Luna's Deadly Deception: How She Made Her Alpha Pay novel Chapter 26

After ending a seven-year relationship that left deep emotional scars, I was wary of opening my heart again.

Magnus appeared like a gentle rain after a long drought - patient, understanding, and seemingly genuine. Where others might have pushed for more, he showed remarkable restraint, respecting my need to heal at my own pace.

His courtship was a masterpiece of devotion. He would send thoughtful gifts - not extravagant displays of wealth, but carefully chosen tokens that showed he listened when I spoke.

Small things, like my favorite moon flowers left on my doorstep, or hand-written notes sharing his hopes for our future. During pack gatherings, he never tried to rush my decision, instead offering quiet support that made me feel safe and valued.

Gradually, his unwavering patience and seemingly sincere affection began to melt the walls around my heart. I started to believe that perhaps not all love stories were meant to end in heartbreak.

The way he looked at me - as if I were the moon itself - made me feel cherished in a way I had never experienced before.

Our wedding ceremony was intimate and profound. Magnus's vows brought tears to even the most stoic pack elders' eyes.

"My heart beats only for you," he had sworn, his voice thick with emotion. "I swear by the Moon Goddess, you'll be my only mate. Loyalty to our bond is the sacred law of the Steele Pack."

The Moon Goddess herself seemed to bless our union that day, bathing us in silver light as we exchanged our eternal bonds.

When our daughter Emma was born, Magnus seemed to complete our perfect family picture. He would spend hours cradling her, singing ancient pack lullabies, and promising to protect us both with his life.

Our home was filled with laughter, love, and the kind of happiness I had once thought existed only in fairy tales.

There was a sudden hubbub in the crowd, and the noise of a helicopter's propeller as it spun suddenly came from mid-air. I barely managed to open my eyes and looked vaguely at the sudden arrival of dozens of helicopters in the distance, which were black and connected.

The helicopters landed one after another, and dozens of strong black-clad men came down from them. All of them had serious expressions and moved in a neat and orderly manner.

The surroundings became quiet, no one knew what they were here for.

The helicopter was looking for a place to land when a yell came from the plane:

"Princess, we're late!"
