They continued to gush and chatter excitedly while we caught up. Safe to say, I missed this energy and vibe so much.
"Good to have our Alpha back, huh?" Jane grinned.
They all nodded, each person sporting smiles on their faces. I didn't need them to say it before I understood the extent of their lifelong allegiance to me.
"Alright then." A serious look washed over my face. "Let's get to work."
Just like that, everyone turned their focus on. I went to the huge plasma screen at the far end of the room and pulled up a picture of Quentin.
I turned to the group. "I want you to look for vulnerabilities in the systems of any subsidiaries of the group under this man's management. As soon as you find something, attack. I want as much damage as possible."
"Sounds like a plan." Our main hacker, Alex, grinned. And so, the domino to my revenge already started.
For the next few days I kept my eyes peeled for any reports or negative news I might pick up on about Quentin's business.
So far so good, I hadn't seen anything yet.
Aside this, I noticed how clingy Askhan was being these days. He made it a habit of always flirting with me whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Like now, he had his arms wrapped around my waist. A small giggle left my lips when he nuzzled his face into my neck.
"Askhan." I tried to move away but he wouldn't budge.
His tail had found its way to my calves, just lingering a tad bit away from it.
"Would you like to accompany me to the Queen Luna's ball?" Askhan inquired as I dodged his tail for the 100th time.
Queen Luna favors me, and once mine was the brightest werewolf princess at Queen Luna's ball.
I opened my mouth to speak but he cut me off. "I'll get your dress prepared and everything."
I thought Askhan had simply being making suggestions, but the decision has been made on his behalf.
My wolf has the constant sensation of being bound, and I feel my breath being suppressed.Askhan's powerful alpha aura is trying to manipulate me, and the pleasant scents are becoming oppressive.
What's going on here? After I regained my ability to turn into a wolf, I had released my MATE bond with Magnus in the company of the elders of the pack, and I should be enjoying my freedom, not putting myself in prison again.
I looked to the side. There was no positive rejection of him.
He hummed out a reply, the look of surprise never leaving his eyes. "I had no clue. Just looked for you at the dance and I couldn't find you."
"Really? What for?" I asked curiously.
His cheeks warmed just a little. "Nothing important. It just felt odd not having you there."
I nodded my head, before turning back to the lilies that had grabbed my attention at the start. I plucked one off and admired it.
"How long do you plan on hiding here?" Haelor finally asked after a while.
I spared him a glance. "Let's just say a while."
I brought the lily to my nose and took a sniff. It smelled divine. Staying in the garden for the rest of the night wouldn't be so bad now.
"I want you to find her. Now!"
My blood ran cold. That sounded like Askhan. He must be really close if his voice had sounded all the way from here.
