Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 101

"Hudson, are you out of your mind?!"

Hudson’s voice was low and icy, every word hitting the floor like shattered glass. "If you ever dare show your face in front of me again, it won't be your hand I drive a blade through."

Silas let out a soft chuckle. He glanced down at the knife embedded in the back of his hand, slowly gripped the handle, and yanked it out in one swift motion. Blood sprayed instantly, leaving dark crimson blossoms on the floor.

Ginger let out a short shriek, slapping both hands over her mouth.

Frowning slightly at the gaping hole in his hand, Silas pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it methodically. "Hudson..." he sighed, feigning exasperation. "You're too impulsive. I haven't seen you in ages, so I brought Ginger over to visit..."

Hudson scoffed coldly. He gripped Jade's hand and turned toward the house. Halfway there, he paused. "That little spy you planted near Sebastian was tight-lipped. Couldn't pry a word out of her, but it doesn't matter..." He tilted his head, a dark smirk playing on his lips, his voice dropping to a dangerous register. "I'll be sure to send you a grand gift another day."

Without another glance at Silas, he led Nora away.

Silas stared after them, his dark gaze lingering on the delicate curve of Nora's waist. A sinister smile tugged at his lips.

Tch.

Who would have thought his ruthless brother was such a romantic? He couldn't even protect himself, yet he was keeping a woman by his side. It was like he had a death wish.

...

Meanwhile, Hudson pulled Nora up the winding staircase.

She could still feel that gaze stabbing into her back—slimy and cold, like a snake slithering down her spine. It wasn't until they rounded the landing that the wall finally severed the line of sight. Nora exhaled deeply, realizing her back was drenched in cold sweat.

Hudson didn't loosen his grip on her hand.

They reached the second floor. The corridor was deathly quiet, illuminated only by the dim amber glow of wall sconces that stretched their shadows across the floor.

Hudson pushed open the door to the master suite and stepped aside to let her in.
