Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 121

The Hamilton family's sitting room was far more private than the main hall, with sheer curtains drawn to filter the blinding sunlight into a soft, warm glow.

The group took their seats. A maid served tea and pastries before slipping out silently.

"I heard you recently acquired Grant's Star Entertainment?" Gavin took a sip of his tea, raising his eyes to look at Hudson.

Hudson leaned back in his chair, twirling his teacup between his fingers. "Just playing around," he said, his tone detached.

Gavin threw a half-smile at Nora, who sat beside Hudson. "You're making quite a bit of noise for someone just playing around," he said meaningfully. "The whole of San Francisco is buzzing with rumors that the great Mr. Lancaster is breaking into the entertainment industry."

"Let them talk."

Gavin could guess the real story, so he didn't press the issue. He chuckled softly and changed the subject. "By the way, the test results for that batch of chips you sent over are out."

Hudson's hand paused slightly. He looked up at him.

"The precision is thirteen percent higher than the last batch. The assembly division held three separate meetings just to discuss it. The higher-ups are saying it's the most advanced Vanguard Precision Series chip produced in the last five years."

The corner of Hudson's mouth ticked up, but he didn't say anything.

Grant, listening from the side, couldn't help but chime in. "Thirteen percent? Hudson, that's insane. Your progress is terrifying."

Hudson cast a brief glance at him, ignored the comment, and turned back to Gavin. "What about mass production?"

Gavin set down his teacup and leaned forward, clasping his hands over his knees. "We're prepping for it now. The military sector has already placed the first batch of orders, and it's a massive number. Can your production line keep up?"

"It can."

Gavin nodded, unable to hide the admiration in his eyes. "Impressive."

Grant and Sebastian exchanged a look.
