What the hell was going on?
Wasn't Gavin's girlfriend Jade?
How...
How was it suddenly someone completely different?
Gavin glared at his stunned brother with a scowl. “I'll ask you again, what were you shouting at Hudson about?”
Leo swallowed painfully, a cold sweat breaking out across his forehead.
What had he just screamed at Jade?
Shameless?
He had literally screamed Hudson's name in blind defiance...
Leo wanted nothing more than to build a time machine, travel back exactly five minutes, and punch his own loudmouthed teeth in.
He slowly, terrifiedly, turned his head toward Hudson.
Hudson was already staring at him. There was a ghost of a smile playing on his lips, but the amusement didn't reach his deadly, glacial eyes. It was a look that promised absolute, catastrophic violence.
“Leo,” Hudson prompted, his voice dangerously soft and calm. “What was it you just said? I didn't quite catch it. Care to repeat yourself?”
Leo's calves practically started vibrating with sheer terror.
He feared absolutely nothing on this earth—except for two specific men.
One was his older brother, Gavin.
The other was the monster standing right in front of him.
And in less than sixty seconds, he had spectacularly managed to piss off both of them.
“Mr. Lancaster... I... I completely misunderstood...”
Hudson arched a perfect brow. “Misunderstood? What exactly did you misunderstand?”
“I... I thought...”
Leo gritted his teeth, abandoning all shreds of his dignity. “Everything I just said was absolute garbage. Please pretend you didn't hear a word of it, Mr. Lancaster.”
Hudson lowered his gaze, casually adjusting the heavy cuffs of his silk shirt. He didn't rush, meticulously smoothing the fabric while eyeing Leo like a butcher inspecting a prime cut of meat, carefully calculating exactly where to make the first strike.
