Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 127

The black Maybach cruised toward Azure Bay.

The Summit Ridge Equestrian Center was nestled against the foothills. Built to seamlessly follow the natural slope of the landscape, it boasted perfectly manicured lawns, a professional dirt track, and pristine stables with red brick and white walls. The faint, earthy scent of dry hay lingered in the crisp air.

Grant was already waiting inside.

He was decked out in ostentatious equestrian gear—tight white riding pants, tall black leather boots, and a riding crop twirling in his hand. His eyes crinkled in a brazen, carefree grin.

"Nora!"

He waved enthusiastically as they approached. "Hudson had me pick out the most docile horse we have for you. I guarantee she won't buck you off."

Nora walked over to the stall and found a beautiful chestnut mare waiting for her. The horse was much taller than she had imagined, with long, elegant legs and a glossy mane. She was quietly munching on hay, blinking her large, soulful eyes.

"She's the sweetest one on the lot. Just a three-year-old filly, absolutely gentle."

Nora gave him a skeptical look before turning back to the horse.

The mare seemed to sense her gaze, lifting her head and letting out a soft snort.

Nora instinctively stepped back.

Hudson wrapped an arm around her waist, a warm chuckle rumbling in his chest. "Scared?"

"No..."

Hudson didn't call her bluff. Instead, he took her hand in his, gently guiding her closer to the magnificent animal.

"Pet her first. Let her get used to your scent."

Biting her lower lip, Nora slowly extended her hand. The second her fingertips brushed the mare's neck, the horse turned her head, fixing those giant, liquid eyes on her before affectionately nudging her snout into Nora's palm.

Nora blinked in surprise before a bright smile broke across her face.

"She's so sweet."

Hudson watched her smile, his own lips curving up in response.

Grant clicked his tongue from the sidelines, rolled his eyes, and wandered off, knowing better than to stick around and third-wheel their blatant flirting.

Hudson was a remarkably patient teacher, walking her through every single step without an ounce of frustration. From how to mount, to holding the reins, to steering.
