Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 198

Nora glanced down at herself. From her collarbones down, she was completely covered in a chaotic tapestry of dark marks; barely an inch of unbroken skin was left untouched.

She gasped, quickly yanking the blanket up to cocoon herself, her ears burning furiously.

Flashbacks of last night rushed into her mind—

Being pinned against the floor-to-ceiling window, the cool glass shocking her heated skin, while he claimed her from behind. His breath had ghosted over her ear, dark and dangerously seductive as he whispered...

"Still think I can't perform?"

Nora buried her face under the covers, desperately wishing she could curl into a permanent cocoon.

It was way too embarrassing.

She hid under the sheets for a long time before finally forcing herself out of bed.

The second her feet touched the carpet, her legs gave out. Her knees buckled, and she nearly collapsed.

She scrambled to grip the nightstand for balance.

Her legs felt entirely boneless, trembling wildly with every agonizing step.

Using the wall for support, she dragged herself into the bathroom. Every single movement sent a dull ache radiating through her, a very loud reminder of exactly what had happened the night before.

Standing in front of the sink, she stared at her reflection and barely recognized the woman staring back.

Her cheeks were flushed, her lips swollen, and the corners of her eyes were still slightly red. She looked completely ravished and stunningly beautiful.

The worst part was her neck. From the base of her ears down to her collarbones, she was branded with marks that were impossible to hide.

Nora bit her lower lip, turned on the faucet, and splashed freezing water onto her face.

The icy droplets slid down her chin, completely failing to extinguish the heat radiating from her skin.

After freshening up, she tore through the walk-in closet for ages before finally finding a white turtleneck sweater that perfectly concealed her collarbones.

She checked herself in the mirror to make sure no marks were visible before slowly making her way downstairs.

Hudson was sitting on the living room sofa, staring at something on his phone.

He had clearly just showered. His damp hair was raked back, highlighting his sharp features and deep, intense eyes. He looked incredibly relaxed and lethally attractive.

Hearing her footsteps, he looked up.

The moment their eyes met, Nora's ears betrayed her by flushing all over again.

A smirk touched Hudson's lips as he set his phone down and reached out for her.
