Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 202

He walked in with an easy familiarity, acting as if he owned the place, and casually tossed his briefcase onto the sofa.

Nora's eyes lit up when she saw him.

"Dr. Harrison? What brings you here? Did you need to see me?"

"I'm here for..."

Liam trailed off halfway through his sentence as he caught Hudson narrowing his eyes in warning. It took him a second to realize his blunder.

"Uh, I'm here for Mr. Lancaster. You just introduced us the other day, remember? Haha..."

Assuming he was here to check on Hudson's medical condition, Nora quickly stood up. "Have a seat. I'll grab you some coffee."

Liam waved his hands frantically. "No, no, no need! I can get it myself."

With that, he was already on his feet, navigating smoothly toward the adjoining lounge area. Without missing a beat, he brewed himself a cup of Savannah First-Press tea.

"???"

Nora watched him return with the steaming mug, a look of profound confusion on her face.

Meeting her gaze, Liam mentally cursed himself.

He was so used to hanging out at Cloudwater Estate that navigating the place was muscle memory. He hadn't even thought about how suspicious it looked.

"Have you been to Cloudwater Estate before, Liam?" she asked.

"Well... I had a few appointments with Mr. Lancaster after we met, so I've stopped by."

"Oh."

That explained it.

No wonder he navigated the sprawling mansion like it was his own apartment.

"Let's go. We'll talk in the study."

Seeing Liam struggle to keep his story straight, Hudson mercifully intervened.

"Right, right." Liam nodded vigorously and followed Hudson upstairs.

The moment the study door clicked shut, Liam wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead. "Hudson, why don't you just tell Nora that I was the one you sent to Northampton to treat her? You've been obsessed with her for years. If you lay your cards on the table, she'd be completely devoted to you."
