Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 211

Nora stood up quickly, not even realizing the smile dancing in her eyes. "Why are you here?"

Hudson took her hand. "To take you home."

"Didn't I text you? The driver was going to take me back in a bit..."

"I couldn't wait."

Nora's ears warmed, and she looked away, unable to formulate a reply.

Xavier leaned against the headboard, arms crossed, beaming at their undeniable chemistry.

"Let's go. Arthur is waiting downstairs," Hudson said, gently stroking the back of her hand. "I had the chef prepare your favorite lamb chops. And didn't you mention you liked premium crabs? I had some flown in this morning, and they're already steaming."

"Really?" Nora's eyes sparkled.

Xavier had intended to tease them, but seeing them completely lost in their own world made him feel like the ultimate third wheel.

"Xavi, focus on recovering. We'll head back first," Nora said, grabbing her purse from the nightstand. "Don't run around. Listen to Mom."

"I know, I know. Just go already before you give me a cavity with all this sweetness."

Nora shot him a playful glare and turned toward the door.

Just as they rounded the corner of the corridor, Hudson suddenly swept her off her feet, cradling her against his chest.

Startled, Nora frantically looped her arms around his neck, her face flushing crimson. "What are you doing? We're in public..."

"Who cares if someone sees?" Hudson's lips curled upward. "We're legally married. It's nobody's business."

Nora buried her face in the crook of his neck, too embarrassed to look up.

As Hudson carried Nora to the waiting car, Jade finally peeked out from behind the curtain in the hospital room. Her eyes locked onto Hudson's retreating figure, her brow furrowing tighter by the second.

She had constantly heard rumors that Hudson was terminally ill, practically on his deathbed. Everyone said he didn't have much time left and that whoever married him would soon be a widow.

That was exactly why she had done everything in her power to escape the arrangement.

But this man, who was effortlessly carrying a woman with a brisk, steady stride—he looked perfectly healthy. There wasn't a trace of illness on him.

Jade bit her lip, her eyes swirling with intense confusion and a bitter wave of jealousy.
