With her one-week wedding leave over, Nora finally returned to Star Entertainment.
She chose a white turtleneck sweater, strategically covering the lingering marks below her collarbone that had yet to fade. Layered with a light blue blazer and her hair tied in a sleek low ponytail, she looked sharp and professional.
She made sure to bring the leftover wedding chocolates, handing out a small box to every coworker.
When Chloe Caldwell saw the chocolates, her eyes went wide.
"You got married?!"
Nora smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we had the ceremony a few days ago."
Chloe turned the elegant box over in her hands, utterly bewildered. "How old are you? Why did you get married so young? Which lucky bastard managed to lock you down?"
Nora laughed at her dramatic tone. "It's not that exaggerated."
"How is it not?" Chloe counted on her fingers. "Look at your face, your figure, your vibe. You're top-tier even by entertainment industry standards. You should be out there playing the field, meeting high-quality men, and taking your sweet time to choose!"
"I've already made my choice."
"..."
Chloe sighed, but her eyes quickly lit up with fresh gossip. "Oh, speaking of marriages, I have to tell you. Our big boss, the legendary Mr. Lancaster, also just tied the knot."
Nora's heart skipped a beat.
"A few days ago, every single employee received a thousand-dollar cash bonus. I grabbed yours for you, it's in your desk drawer... Apparently, every employee under the Lancaster Group got one. He must have easily dropped tens of millions of dollars just on bonuses!"
Chloe clicked her tongue. "Mr. Lancaster is insanely generous. This new Mrs. Lancaster is seriously lucky. Every woman in San Francisco is practically green with envy."
Nora guiltily lowered her eyes, keeping her mouth firmly shut.
She was the very Mrs. Lancaster that everyone was supposedly jealous of.
"Oh, right, one more thing..." Chloe suddenly gasped, buzzing with excitement. "Vice Director Hazel Harper is probably getting officially promoted to Music Director soon."
Nora thought for a moment. "Vice Director Harper?"
"Yes, exactly her." Chloe leaned in, dropping her voice to a whisper. "Word on the street is that she's the legendary ROSE."
