Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 292

Besides, she didn't even know if she was actually pregnant yet.

Even though it seemed impossible, what if she was?

She didn't want Hudson to find out about something this huge from a third party.

Nora pushed open the glass doors of the pharmacy, immediately hit by the sterile scent of rubbing alcohol and vitamins.

A middle-aged clerk stood behind the checkout counter, organizing a display of cold medicine. She glanced up at the chime of the door.

"Hi there, can I help you find something?"

"Do you... do you have pregnancy tests?"

The woman gave her a fleeting look, her eyes lingering on Nora's face for just a second before she wordlessly turned around. She pulled a box from the shelf and set it on the counter.

"Fifteen dollars."

Nora swiped her card, hastily shoved the box into her purse, and turned to leave.

She completely failed to notice the group of young women waiting for the crosswalk light on the opposite side of the street.

Standing among them in a pale yellow sundress was Tiffany Lancaster.

"What are you looking at, Tiff?" Her friend followed her gaze, only seeing a completely average storefront.

Tiffany kept her eyes locked on the glass doors that had just swung shut, a slight frown tugging at her features.

She could have sworn she just saw Nora walk out of there.

"Nothing," she murmured, pulling her gaze away with a dismissive smile. "Come on, the light is green."

The group crossed the street, laughing and chatting. But as they passed the pharmacy entrance, Tiffany's footsteps suddenly faltered.

She hesitated for a split second before spinning on her heel and marching inside.

"Excuse me, what did that woman who just left buy?"

The clerk blinked in surprise, looking her up and down without offering an answer.

Tiffany pulled a crisp bill from her designer bag, a sickeningly sweet smile curving her lips. "I don't mean any harm. I'm just curious."

The woman's eyes locked onto the cash for a beat before shifting back to Tiffany's perfectly manicured face.

Without a word, she reached back, pulled another pregnancy test off the shelf, and slid it onto the counter.

Tiffany's eyes widened in shock.

Nora bought a pregnancy test?

Was she pregnant?
