Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 316

"Xavi is a beast!"

"Xavi rules!"

"Xavi! Show us another one! Show us another one!"

Nora paused her steps and followed the sound.

On the basketball court, Xavier was gripping a basketball with one hand. He leaped from outside the three-point line, his body extending gracefully in the air. With a gentle flick of his wrist, the basketball traced a beautiful arc and swished perfectly through the net.

"Ah! Badass!" The surrounding boys jumped and cheered. Some rushed over to clap his shoulder, others handed him water and towels. The whole scene looked like fans greeting their idol.

Nora leaned against a pillar in the hallway, watching the spectacle with a slow smile curving her lips.

Half a month ago, Xavier was lying in an operating room, getting a dozen stitches in the back of his head.

Now look at him, bouncing around and even dunking.

"Xavier!"

Xavier instinctively turned around. When he realized it was Nora, he tossed the basketball aside and jogged over, beads of sweat clinging to his forehead. "Nora, what are you doing here?"

"Just came to see you." Nora pulled a tissue from her purse and handed it to him. "Is the wound on your head fully healed?"

"Been healed for ages." Xavier haphazardly wiped away his sweat, crumpled the tissue into a ball, and tossed it into a nearby trash can with a grin. "I'm a big deal around here now. Look at them, everyone calls me Xavi."

Nora glanced at the group of boys who were still peering over, lowering her voice. "Why are they calling you Xavi? Are you extorting protection money from them?"

"Nora!" Xavier rolled his eyes. "Do I look like that kind of guy?"

"Yes."

"..." Xavier choked on his words, then mumbled, "I don't know what's going on either. It's just that suddenly, everyone started being super polite to me. The guys who used to pretend I didn't exist now take the initiative to say hi. People save seats for me at lunch, and hand me water when I play ball. I can't even stop them."

Nora obviously knew exactly what was going on.

The students at St. Paul's all came from exceptionally wealthy or powerful families.
