Nora stood by the railing on the upper deck, watching the San Francisco skyline shrink into the distance. The towering skyscrapers faded into blurred silhouettes before dipping entirely below the horizon.

Before her was the endless expanse of the ocean.

The vibrant blue of the sky bled seamlessly into the sea, blurring the horizon line until she couldn't tell where one began and the other ended.

The wind tossed her hair. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath.

"Do you like it?" Hudson wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.

Nora leaned back against his solid chest, humming softly in agreement.

"Good." Hudson tightened his hold, pressing a tender kiss against her cheek. "I'll bring you out here more often."

Nora's ears grew warm. She turned her head, pretending to admire the view, but she couldn't suppress the smile pulling at the corners of her mouth.
