Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 723

A lump formed in Liana's throat, and a fresh wave of tears blurred her vision. "Dad..." her voice trembled.

Henry let out a heavy sigh and pulled her into a warm embrace, patting her back soothingly. "Alright, stop crying. Didn't I tell you? No matter what happens, you will always be my daughter."

"I'm thrilled that Evie is back, but you are still my precious girl. That bond doesn't disappear just because someone else walked through the door."

Liana buried her face in his chest, her voice muffled and thick with emotion. "I thought... now that you have your biological daughter, you wouldn't want me anymore."

Henry looked down at her, his tone softening considerably. "Don't be ridiculous. You will always be my daughter. Nora married Hudson. She'll barely be home a few times a year. But you're different. You're right here by my side."

He paused, his voice turning incredibly tender. "You are the Fairchild heiress. You don't need to care about what anyone else says, and you certainly don't need to compare yourself to anyone."

Liana's sobs quieted down. She sniffled against his coat. "...Really?"

"Of course it's real," Henry murmured, gently tapping the tip of her nose. "When have I ever lied to you?"

A fragile smile finally broke through Liana's tears. She snuggled closer against his chest, her voice sweet and dependent. "You're the best, Dad..."

Hidden in the shadows outside the open door, Martha stood silently. Seeing that Liana had finally calmed down, a fleeting look of relief crossed her face before she quietly pulled the door shut.

Given the massive size of the estate, Hudson and Nora stayed the night.

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Matriarch Fairchild held Nora's hand, offering a litany of fond farewells before finally letting her go. "Finnian, go see Nora and Hudson off."

"Understood, Grandma."

"Goodbye, Grandma," Nora said, her expression full of genuine reluctance to leave.

Matriarch Fairchild smiled warmly and patted her hand. "Come visit your grandmother whenever you have the time."

"I will."

The group piled into the waiting cars and headed straight for the Northampton airport.

It wasn't until they arrived at the private terminal that Finnian realized their flight plan wasn't filed for San Francisco. They were heading to Chicago.

"Are you... going to the Vaughn family?"

Finnian's brow furrowed, his expression instantly shifting to pure dread. "Don't tell me you're actually going to claim your relatives?"

"Yep," Hudson replied smoothly. "Want to tag along?"

Finnian's jaw twitched. He shook his head on pure reflex. "Absolutely not."

Hudson raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

"Because I have no interest in being beaten to death by the Vaughns."
