There was a few seconds of silence on the other end.

When Liana finally spoke, her voice was much colder. "...Got it. Thanks, Scarlett. I'll treat you to dinner sometime."

"Sounds good," Scarlett replied.

They exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up.

Liana lowered her phone, every trace of a smile vanishing from her face.
