"Hello, Henry, where are you right now?"
"Evie... You're back in Northampton? I'm at the Manor. The Matriarch fell ill this morning, so I'm here keeping her company."
Nora frowned. "She fell ill? Is it serious?"
"It's an old ailment," Henry said quickly. "Nothing too serious. She's already taken her medication, so don't worry."
"I'll head over right now."
"Ah, Evie, there's no need..."
Nora hung up before he could finish and stood up. "Come on. We're heading to the Manor."
Hudson didn't ask any questions. He simply grabbed his coat and stood. "Let's go."
Half an hour later, the black sedan pulled up to the gates of Fairchild Manor.
Stepping into the living room, they found Henry sitting on the sofa with Liana standing behind him, massaging his shoulders.
Spotting them, Liana's brow furrowed briefly before she smoothed her expression into a polite mask.
"Henry, how is the Matriarch?"
"She took her medication and is resting. It's just her usual condition, nothing to worry about. You really didn't need to make the trip out here..."
Henry wore dark gray loungewear with a coat draped loosely over his shoulders. His collar was unbuttoned, making him look slightly more approachable than usual.
Nora glanced toward the second floor, knowing better than to disturb the Matriarch if she was already asleep.
A maid quickly brought over a tray of hot tea.
Henry took his seat at the center arrangement and sipped his tea. He looked at Nora with a mild gaze. "Evie, you mentioned on the phone that you had something to ask me. What is it?"
Nora glanced pointedly at Liana, who was still hovering nearby. "Henry, could we speak privately in the study?"
Henry chuckled and stood up immediately. "Alright, let's head upstairs."
"Okay."
Liana was left standing alone in the sprawling living room as she watched Henry lead Nora and Hudson up the stairs.
She glared fiercely at the spot where Nora had disappeared, a suffocating wave of rage washing over her.
That miserable brat!
Was this a blatant attempt to humiliate her?!
Did Nora think she was a pushover?
Just you wait!
Sooner or later, I will make you pay!
