Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 787

By the time the engagement party ended, the crowds had dispersed.

Nora walked out of the hotel doors with her arm linked through Hudson's, only to see Jude standing at the entrance seeing off the last of the guests.

Seeing them approach, Jude let out a soft chuckle. "Heading back to San Francisco?"

Hudson nodded. "There's a mountain of work waiting for me at the lab... I'm swamped!"

Jude laughed. "You're practically an international superstar right now. The moment your Vanguard TBM Chip goes public, it'll completely obliterate Australia's microchip tech. Everyone in the scientific community is talking about Hudson Lancaster."

Hudson seemed unfazed by the compliment, merely chuckling before a thought struck him. "We're heading to Australia in a few days. Want to come along?"

"Sure, I've been meaning to check out that gold mine anyway," Jude smiled effortlessly, like a spring breeze. "I'll see you there, then..."

"Sounds good."

Hudson agreed, reaching out to give Jude a light, friendly punch on the chest. "And, about today... thanks."

Jude's lips curved up slightly. "No need to thank me."

The two men exchanged a look, sharing a knowing smile.

"As for the remaining half of The Ivory Pill, I'll figure something out."

Hudson nodded, not turning down the offer. "Alright, we'll head out first..."

"Yeah, see you in Australia."

...

By the time the private jet landed in San Francisco, the sky had already grown dark.

Nora leaned back in her seat, staring out the window at the speeding streetlights, her eyelids growing incredibly heavy.

She had been completely on edge all day in Northampton. Now that she could finally relax, a wave of exhaustion crashed over her.

Hudson glanced sideways at her. Seeing her head bobbing as she fought sleep, he reached over and pulled her against him, letting her rest on his shoulder.
