Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 804

"Yeah."

Nora nodded. She truly had no intention of wasting much thought on Henry.

She hadn't grown up by his side and owed him nothing for her upbringing. Now that she had returned to the family, he only saw her as a cash cow to leech off of. Naturally, she felt no affection for the man.

Seeing her brow relax, Hudson squeezed her hand and led her further into the mining site.

"Alright, let's stop thinking about that garbage. Hunter just found a massive ant nest earlier. Want to go take a look?"

Nora looked at him, caught between laughing and crying, and quickly shook her head. "No thanks, that sounds creepy."

Hudson chuckled and didn't push it.

Nora looked around. The once-desolate mountain was now buzzing with activity, clearly gearing up for full-scale operations.

"Has it only been half a day? Are all the permits cleared?"

"Yeah, Hunter has a lot of connections here. He handled most of this..."

Hudson pointed at the massive heavy machinery in the distance. "Right now, they're clearing the surface debris. Once that's done, the Vanguard TBM can start digging."

Following his gaze, Nora noticed Jude Winslow standing on the other side of the site. He was holding a rolled-up blueprint, talking earnestly to a man in work gear.

"Has Mr. Winslow been here all day?"

Hudson arched an eyebrow. "It's half his business now. If he doesn't care, who will?"

Nora's lips curved into a slight smile.

Half the profits from the Aurora Gold Deposit belonged to Jude. The Winslow family had poured immense capital into developing their chips over the past few years, leaving a gaping financial hole they had yet to plug. To Jude, this mine wasn't just an asset; it was the key to his family's survival.

"Let's go. It's too dusty out here. I'll take you to the tent to rest."

Nora nodded, letting Hudson lead her toward the tent.

Just as they stepped inside, Hudson's phone buzzed.
