Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 811

Mrs. Winslow let out a heavy sigh and explained, "He was perfectly fine around noon. After lunch, he even took a stroll in the garden. When he came back, he said he was feeling tired and wanted a nap, so I helped him upstairs."

She paused, her voice trembling slightly. "But a little while later, we heard the sound of a vase shattering upstairs. The maids ran up, and he was already collapsed on the floor..."

Jude frowned sharply. "A shattered vase?"

Mrs. Winslow nodded. "Yes. When I heard the commotion and ran up, his favorite porcelain vase was smashed to pieces on the floor... I think he must have felt the chest pain and knocked it over on purpose to alert us."

Jude's lips tightened into a hard line. "Mom, did Grandpa have any visitors today?"

Mrs. Winslow shook her head. "No. It was just family home all day."

Jude went quiet, pushing his suspicions down for the moment.

Guessing was pointless; he'd have to wait until his grandfather woke up to ask him directly.

Just then, the ICU doors opened, and a doctor stepped out, pulling down his surgical mask.

Everyone immediately surged forward. "Doctor, how is he?"

"Rest assured, Elias is out of danger. The surgery was a complete success. We've moved him to the ICU for monitoring, and he's currently conscious. Family members can go in to see him, but keep it brief. He needs absolute rest."

"Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much."

Hearing that Elias was safe, a collective wave of relief washed over the group.

Now that her panic had subsided, Mrs. Winslow finally noticed Hudson and Nora.

Her gaze lingered on Nora for a second, a flicker of awkward disappointment passing over her face, but she forced a polite smile. "Mr. Lancaster, Mrs... Mrs. Lancaster. You came all this way? I'm so sorry to trouble you..."
