Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 818

"Because I'm happy!"

"..."

Watching the group celebrate, a warm smile spread across Dr. Vane's face. He finally spoke up at his own leisurely pace. "Hold on, I wasn't finished. The main poison is neutralized, but..."

The moment the word 'but' dropped, the joyous atmosphere evaporated. Everyone tensed up again.

Nora looked at Dr. Vane anxiously. "But what?"

Seeing their terrified expressions, Dr. Vane laughed and waved his hand. "Relax, everyone. It's just that there's still a build-up of residual toxins in his system. After being poisoned for so many years, it's deeply rooted. Half an Ivory Pill can't flush it all out instantly."

He paused, continuing at a measured pace. "But there's no need to panic. He just needs to undergo a treatment plan and take prescribed medicine for a while to slowly expel the remainder."

"How long will that take?" Nora pressed.

Dr. Vane held up three fingers, then folded two back down. "About a month or so."

Nora let out a massive sigh of relief. Her legs gave out again, and this time Hudson caught her by the waist from behind.

She turned to look at him, meeting his dark, laughing eyes. She was choked up, but she fought back the tears.

This was wonderful news.

She wasn't going to cry.

"Hell yeah! We need to celebrate!"

Olive suddenly jumped up. "Should we head back to San Francisco? Let's set off that half-ton of fireworks we have in the warehouse!"

Archer grinned, his eyes crinkling. "Who cares about fireworks? Let's go shopping! Drinks and dinner are on me tonight!"

"Looks like someone made a killing overseas again!" Olive leaped over, slinging her arm around Archer's neck and putting him in a headlock like a helpless chicken.
