Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 831

Hudson pulled his shirt on slowly before speaking in a measured tone. "Have them wait in the living room. I'm going to take a shower first."

"Yes, Boss."

Watching Archer and the others head downstairs, Hudson turned and walked into the bathroom.

A short while later, he emerged in a bathrobe. Standing in the walk-in closet, he picked out a set of dark gray loungewear. He rubbed his hair carelessly with a towel, leaving it damp and hanging over his forehead, masking his sharp, piercing gaze.

Next, he glanced at a pill bottle sitting on the counter. It was something Dr. Silas Vane had whipped up—a pill that instantly altered a person's complexion.

He popped one into his mouth and looked in the mirror. His healthy, flushed skin visibly paled by several shades.

He pushed his damp hair back, exposing his forehead and striking features. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Perfect.

Instant results.

...

By the time Hudson strolled downstairs, Henry and Finnian were sitting in the living room, sipping tea.

Hearing footsteps on the stairs, both men looked up.

"Hudson!" Henry put down his teacup and stood up. "Why do you look so terrible? I heard you relapsed again?"

Hudson offered a weak smile. "Just an old problem."

He sat down on the sofa opposite Henry.

Right on cue, Dr. Vane walked in carrying a steaming bowl of medicine. "Here, fresh off the stove. Drink it while it's hot."
