Margaret stepped out of Mohler Manor and hailed a taxi.

Inside the cab, the radio was broadcasting news. “The Tucker family’s second heiress and the Miller family’s eldest heir are getting engaged today. A perfect match. Congratulations to them
both.”
“Miss, where to?” The middle–aged driver stared in shock at the girl who had stopped him. She was so stunning she hardly looked real.
Margaret called out the hotel address just mentioned in the news. “Take me to the Imperial. Hotel, please.”
“Arc you going to the Tucker–Miller engagement? Both families are part of the big four families. I heard they were promised to each other since childhood. It’s been all over the news lately.”
Noting her elegant appearance and that she came from an upscale neighborhood, he assumed she was another wealthy guest attending the event.
Margaret gave a faint smile. Her stunning face looked charming. “I’m not going to the party. I’m going to kill someone.”
The driver blinked. She was smiling, but her eyes showed no warmth. A chill ran down his spine.
“You have quite a sense of humor, miss,” he said with a forced laugh, trying to calm his nerves.
The car started moving.
Though it was hot outside, the driver felt cold sweat soaking his clothes.
He kept glancing at the girl in the rearview mirror.
She was breathtakingly beautiful with a black princess dress. But she gave off an intimidating aura. Her murderous intent felt so strong it was almost visible, like a death god straight out of an anime.
She began muttering to herself, listing gruesome ways to kill someone–skinning, cutting tendons, removing hands and feet…
She described dozens of methods, most of which he’d never heard of. Each one sounded terrifying enough to make his scalp tingle.
He drove stiffly, moving on pure instinct.

Thirty minutes later, they reached the hotel.

*Sir, can I pay later? I don’t have any money with me,” Margaret said apologetically. She had nothing on her–the black dress was borrowed from the young man in the wheelchair.
“No need, miss! Really! I’m just an honest, hardworking man. I’ve never done anything wrong. There was no way he would take her money.
The whole ride had felt like driving through the gates of hell. His heart had been pounding, afraid she might try one of those creepy methods on him.
Seeing how pale he was, Margaret felt confused. Were her words really that frightening?
That man in the wheelchair was much better. He wasn’t afraid of her at all.
“Sir, you have an old leg injury, don’t you?” Margaret noticed his slightly uneven posture.
“What?” He stared blankly.
“Nothing. She smiled, her eyes blinking. “Hope all the good you’ve done comes back to you.”
She got out of the car.
The driver sat there, stunned. He didn’t drive off immediately but took a moment to calm down. Only when his fear had eased did he start the engine.
As he pressed the clutch, he froze.
The pain in his leg was completely gone.
Imperial Hotel…
The Tuckers and the Millers were celebrating their alliance today. They had booked the entire hotel for the occasion.
Inside, the venue was packed with guests. Outside, luxury cars lined the street. This showed how powerful the two families were.
Since it was a happy event, everyone wore bright, festive colors.
But just as the ceremony was about to begin-

The main doors of the hall swung open. A stunning girl in a black princess dress walked in. Her long legs were covered in sheer black stockings, and her shiny black boots stepped casually onto the red carpet.
Amid the sea of bright colors, her black outfit stood out sharply. She didn’t look like a guest- she looked like she had come to attend a funeral.
