Chapter 12 The Real Heiress Returns.

All eyes should have been on the engaged couple. But the moment the girl in black entered, every guest turned to stare.
She was breathtakingly beautiful.
Dressed in a black princess gown, with delicate features, and flowing blonde hair, she looked like an anime character come to life.
“Who is that girl?”
“She’s stunning! Like she stepped right out of a movie!”
“Why is she wearing black to an engagement party? Is she on her way to a funeral and got the wrong place?”
Whispers filled the room.
“Wait, she looks familiar… Isn’t she the eldest daughter the Tuckers brought back from the countryside last year?”
“What? I heard their eldest daughter was some tacky, ugly girl. This young lady looks noble and elegant. Just like a princess. How could she be that country bumpkin?”
Margaret listened calmly, showing no reaction.
She scanned the hall, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
Only her father and stepmother had come to the engagement. None of her influential older brothers were present.
Her gaze finally settled on a girl in a sparkling gown, perfectly polished.
That girl had seen her too–and now stood frozen, staring as if she’d seen a ghost.
It was Clara Tucker. Margaret’s so–called sister, the Tuckers‘ adopted daughter. Before Margaret returned, Clara had been the only “heiress” in the family.
When Margaret came back, Clara grew anxious, afraid her privileged life would be taken away. In public, she played the caring sister, earning everyone’s praise and acting like the true heir.
But behind the scenes, she schemed. Because of her, Margaret became the daughter her parents disliked, the sister her brothers looked down on, and a laughingstock throughout Capaville. Clara was behind it all.

Chapter 12 The Real Heiress Returns
Finished
The original Margaret had been painfully naive, believing Clara was the only one who treated. her well. She obeyed her, thanked her, and trusted her.
The Tuckers and the Millers had arranged a marriage contract years ago–meant for Margaret and the Miller family’s eldest son.
But Margaret went missing as a child, so everyone assumed Clara would marry him when they
grew up.
Clara wore the title of his fiancée proudly and had always liked him.
Then, a year ago, Margaret was found. She was the true heiress–and the Miller heir’s real fiancée.
The families had agreed: the engagement must happen today, or the contract would be void.
So, a few days earlier, Clara hired traffickers to kidnap Margaret outside the city. She ordered. them to break Margaret’s arms and legs, stuff her into a bag, and ship her to an overseas fight pit–a living hell–leaving her there to die.
When Margaret disappeared, both families panicked briefly. But after considering their interests, they refused to cancel the engagement. This alliance was too important. Naturally, Clara became the bride.
And both families preferred it that way–Clara replacing Margaret suited them perfectly.
Margaret’s parents had never liked the daughter who ‘embarrassed‘ them. They favored Clara, who made them look good.
As for the Millers… Margaret’s reputation in Capaville was ruined. A foolish country girl wasn’t fit to be their future lady.
On top of that, rumors claimed Margaret had run off with some man.
She had “shamed” both families, staining their honor, and they resented her for it.
Seeing the terror on Clara’s face, Margaret couldn’t help but smile–a dangerous curve of her lips.
Clara had nerve, she’d give her that. If she hadn’t been reborn into this body, the plan have worked perfectly–clean and silent.

Too bad Clara never imagined Reaper would return in the timid, bullied Margaret’s place.
Those who had once crushed Margaret would now pay–in blood.
