Chapter 89
Luna’s POV
I was making my way towards the track field while muttering prayers under my breath, like my life genuinely depended divine intervention at this point. Honestly, maybe it actually did. Coach Ramirez already disäked me on a normal day a now I had skipped training without warning him beforehand, which was probably enough reason for him to finally thro me out of the team completely.
The more I thought about it, the tighter my stomach twisted with anxiety. I kept trying to calm myself down by remindi myself that panicking would not magically fix anything, but it was hard not to panic when my entire future felt like it wa balancing on a very thin thread.
The morning air was cool, but it did absolutely nothing to ease the nervous heat crawling under my skin. Students were already moving around campus, some heading to classes while others sat outside laughing with their friends like life was perfectly normal. Meanwhile, I was over here trying to figure out how to explain to my coach that I had missed training because I had spent the night discovering that I was a werewolf and accidentally sleeping with one of my five mates duri my first heat.
Yeah, there was absolutely no excuse on earth that could compete with that level of insanity.
| sighed heavily while walking faster toward the field. I had decided to go earlier than training time specifically because I wanted to speak to Coach Ramirez privately before the others arrived. I figured it would be easier to explain myself with in audience around to watch me get humiliated. At the very least, if he yelled at me, only I would have to suffer through i
Still, no matter how much I prepared myself mentally, I knew he was going to be furious: I was one of the athletes selecte or the upcoming intercollegiate meet, and Coach Ramirez treated that competition like it was the Olympics themselves. Missing even one training session without notice was practically a crime in his eyes. I could already imagine the disappointed look he would give me before telling me I was irresponsible and unserious.
The thought alone made me groan quietly.
You worked too hard to lose this.”
Moon’s voice suddenly echoed inside my head, and I instantly tensed before letting out a slow breath. “I know,” I muttered inder my breath quietly enough that nobody passing by would hear me talking to myself like a crazy person.
You are stressing too much,” Moon added confidently. “You should be focusing on more important things like our inates immediately rolled my eyes. “Please shut up.”
Moon scoffed dramatically in my head, clearly offended by my lack of appreciation for her priorities I was already hallway o the field when I suddenly heard someone calling my name from behind me
‘Luna!”
I froze briefly before closing my eyes for half a second in annoyance
I did not even need to turn around to know who it was because I could already smell him. It was honestly ridiculous how quickly I had become familiar with their scents. Theo’s scent was warm and distracting in a way that irritated ine bey alive every single time he got close. Moon reacted like she had just won the lottery
“Mate,” she practically purred inside my head excitedly

crainly. Hurned around, and sure enough. Theo was airedy walking toward me with his usual lazy confidence inke he did not have a single serious problem in his life. His hands were tucked casually into the pockets of his hoodie and that annoyitig smitrk was already sitting comfortably on his face before he ever reached me
I immediately glanced around pervously before lowering my voice “What are you doing approaching me on campus?” i asked him the second he got close enough. “Do you want the rumors about me to get even worse than they already area
Theo chuckled softly like he found my concernemusing instead of serious. “Relax.” he replied easily “I’m not here to ruin your reputation more than it already is.”
I narrowed my eyes at him immediately. “Very comforting
His smirk widened slightly at my response before he tilted his head while studying my face carefully. “You look stressed,” I pointed out unnecessarily before asking, “Have you figured out what you’re going to tell your coach yet? Because skipping practice yesterday definitely won’t make him happy, especially since you’re still new.”
let out another tired sigh. “Honestly, I don’t have much choice besides facing it head on,” I admitted while rubbing my orehead briefly. “I’m just hoping he doesn’t immediately kick me off the team before I can even explain myself.”
Theo hummed thoughtfully for a second before the corner of his mouth lifted again in that same smug expression that isually meant he was about to say something annoying. “What would you do for me,” he started slowly, “if I gave you a ver good excuse that could keep you on the team and stop you from getting kicked out?”
stared at him in complete confusion for a few seconds because the sudden question genuinely caught me off guard. What?” I asked flatly.
Theo shrugged casually. “You heard me.”
folded my arms immediately while eyeing him suspiciously. “Okay, what exactly do you want from me if you supposedly ave some magical solution?”
Theo did not even hesitate. “I want a date.”
blinked. “A what?”
A date,” he repeated calmly like this was the most normal conversation in the world. “And not one of those short bormg lates where you pretend to enjoy coffee for two hours and then leave. I want a full day. Just me and you.”
or a second, I genuinely wondered if he had hit his head recently.
stared at him like he had completely lost his mind. “You cannot possibly be serious.”
I’m dead serious,” Theo replied immediately without even the slightest bit of embarrassment In fact he looked completely elaxed while saying it, which somehow made it worse. “I told you already that I fully sitend to seduce you face already has
head start now, so obviously I need to start creating opportunities for myself too
scoffed loudly before I could stop myself. “You’re insane
Theo simply shrugged like he took that as a compliment instead of an insult “Maybe he admitted casily
you don’t exactly have time to stand here insulting me You need to speak to your coach you if you want to stay on the real and keep your scholarship, so I’d suggest making your decision quickly
I opened my mouth to argue again, but no words came out numediately because unfortunately he was right Every second I wasted standing around stressing was another second closer to traming time It Coach Ramirez decided to throw me out everything I had worked for would disappear instantly
At the same time, though, agreeing to a whole date with Theo felt dangerous for reasons I did not even fully understand

Smyself yrs.
“Say yes,” Moon practically yelled inside my head excitedly. We like him.*
“You like everybody,” I snapped internally.
“That is because they are ours.”
I mentally groaned in frustration.

Theo was still standing there patiently waiting for my answer, looking entirely too confident that he was eventually going to get his way. Honestly, the worst part was that he probably already knew I was desperate enough to agree to almost anything if it meant keeping my scholarship.
I rubbed my face tiredly before finally sighing in defeat. “Fine,” I muttered reluctantly.
