Mind
Luis’s POV:
After I washed up, I tossed the towel around my neck. My hair was still dripping.
As I passed the entryway, I noticed a tall woman sitting on the couch. She wore a white shirt and blue jeans.
I frowned. “Lindsay? What are you doing here?”
Lindsay Little was the daughter of the Mooncrown Pack’s chief guard.
Years ago, when my mother was kidnapped by a rival pack, Lindsay’s father gave his life to save her.
My grandmother never forgot that debt. Out of gratitude, she allowed Lindsay to live on our land and even paid for her to attend the top werewolf academy.
Lindsay’s POV:
I stared at the man in front of me.
He was still breathtaking. The sharp line of his jaw, the high bridge of his nose, and those lazy eyes filled with dangerous charm hadn’t changed at all.
Just one look, and it felt like my heart had started beating again.
My life had completely changed the moment I was brought into the Mooncrown Pack.

Since we were close in age, I grew up alongside Luis.
The gap between our status was too wide. All I could do was watch him from a distance.
I made a mistake. I developed feelings I should never have had for an Alpha. Mrs. Eaton found out.
She sent me overseas almost immediately. It had been nearly ten years since I left.
If Mrs. Eaton hadn’t called me back and given me tasks to handle, I probably wouldn’t be standing here now.
I wouldn’t have the chance to see the Alpha I loved.
I forced my pounding heart to calm down and smiled. “Mrs. Eaton asked me to check on you. She was worried you’d work too hard and forget to eat or sleep.”
I set the thermos on the table.
Luis wiped his short hair with the towel and tossed it into the laundry basket. He never looked at me. His voice was calm as he asked, “Did my phone ring just now?”
I lowered my head.
“Yes. I was about to bring it to you, but the call ended.”
“Next time, don’t come here without asking first.” His tone was flat, but those words jabbed into my heart like a sword.

I clenched my lip ferociously, swallowed the sting burning my eyes, and forced myself to answer quietly, “Okay.”
He turned away and sat on the couch, his arm draped over the backrest. “Anything else?”
His voice stayed even, but the meaning was clear–he was asking me to leave.
My fingers twisted the hem of my t–shirt tighter.
The truth was, I had already finished what Mrs. Eaton asked me to do. But after so many years apart, I couldn’t bring myself to walk
out yet.
Even one more second here, even one more look at him, was worth it.
I forced myself to speak. “I heard you’re getting engaged. Congratulations.”
He leaned back lazily against the couch. But when his eyes lifted, the careless look in them turned sharp as a blade.
“Engaged or not, my Luna will never be you.”
His words carried the full weight of a top Alpha, and the pressure made the back of my neck tingle.
I should have been used to it. He had always been this way–cold, unwilling to waste even polite words on people he didn’t care about. But hearing it still pierced my chest like a needle.
I forced a smile.
“My mom’s birthday is coming. Mrs. Eaton agreed to let me fly home this time. Can I go with you?”
It was my last bit of hope.
“No.” His refusal was instant and firm.
A dull ache spread through my chest again.
We grew up together, and my father had even given his life for the pack.
And now, he even rejected my request to ride his private jet home?
I was still frozen in shock when his calm, flat voice cut in again. “My girlfriend would mind.”
“Y–you have a girlfriend?” My head snapped up, my voice cracking.
Was it the woman he had just spoken to on the phone?
Luis glanced at me. “Is that any of your business?”
The smile on my face collapsed completely. “Then I’ll go.”
When I walked out of his room, bitterness weighed down my chest.
For the first time, I heard an Alpha of his status openly admit he had a girlfriend.
And when he spoke of her, his eyes gleamed like they had been lit from inside, filled with unmistakable tenderness. I saw it clearly.

Chapter 120 My Girlfriend Would Mind
I couldn’t help wondering–what kind of woman could he possibly let into his heart?
At the same time, I felt an odd sense of relief. As long as it wasn’t the woman chosen for the alliance, that was enough.
But the truth stung. Anyone Luis held that close would never be accepted by our pack.
Just like back then, when my father saved the Luna’s life, yet still abandoned me without a second thought.
