Third-person POV:
The ceremony day opened under a clear, polished blue sky. Thin clouds drifted by like silver threads.
The Mooncrown Pack Alpha's estate had been carefully arranged, solemn and simple. Each chair held a small bundle tied with dark green moss and white berries, giving off a cool pine scent.
The guest list was small. Besides the elders and core families, only the people closest to Deanna were there.
Violet arrived early. She followed Deanna's advice and wore a deep green velvet dress with a soft cream cardigan. It was elegant without standing out too much.
Erik sat next to her. He looked relaxed, but his eyes were more focused than usual. He quietly pointed out important figures to Violet.
Kathryn sat where she could see everything, holding Summer, who was dressed nicely.
Summer was unusually quiet today. Her wide eyes wandered with quiet curiosity, as if she sensed the seriousness of the moment. She didn't cry or fuss. Kathryn, however, felt tense. She was proud of her daughter but uneasy about the ritual, so she kept gently patting her granddaughter.
Luis was already standing in the open space at the center of the stone courtyard.
He wore a suit that matched Deanna's ceremonial dress—sharp lines, clean shoulders. The only detail was the Mooncrown crest stitched in gold over his left chest. Allison had designed it for him as well.
He stood tall, face steady. Only those who knew him well could see the tension in his tight jaw. His eyes kept drifting toward the path from the main house, waiting for his mate to appear.
