Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 210

**The Heart I Buried for You by Serene Lockwood**

**Chapter 210: No Mercy**

**Deanna’s POV:**

As I blinked awake, a sharp ache throbbed in my skull, as if a thousand tiny hammers were pounding within. The world around me was cloaked in shadows, an oppressive dimness that made it difficult to discern my surroundings.

In the distance, the flickering neon lights painted a hazy picture, and the outline of a railing suggested I was perched high above the ground. Gradually, the fog of confusion began to lift, and I realized, with a jolt of horror, that I was trapped on the rooftop pavilion of the mall.

“Who are you?” My voice emerged as a hoarse whisper, barely breaking the silence. I strained to see through the darkness, catching a glimpse of a figure moving ominously in the shadows.

I attempted to shift my body, but a jolt of panic surged through me as I discovered my hands were bound tightly behind my back, the ropes laced with wolfsbane. The sharp sting of the ropes against my skin sent waves of fear coursing through my veins.

Suddenly, a chilling voice echoed in the night. “Deanna!”

Footsteps approached, each step resonating like an icy whisper against the concrete. Out of the gloom, Dorothy’s face emerged, her expression twisted and malevolent, a stark reminder of the nightmares that had haunted my past.

Her eyes glinted with a predatory intensity, reminiscent of a serpent poised to strike. A cruel, hungry smile spread across her lips, and in that moment, I realized she had somehow been released from prison.

I swallowed hard, trying to suppress the tremor in my voice. “What do you want?”

Dorothy crouched low, her hand shooting forward to grasp a fistful of my hair. She yanked my head back with a force that made my scalp scream in protest.

“You’re so naughty,” she hissed, her voice dripping with malice. “You didn’t even bother to come pick me up when I got out.”

The pain was excruciating, but I forced myself to meet her gaze, the face that had tormented me for what felt like an eternity.

“Let go of me!” I shouted, my voice rising with a mixture of defiance and desperation. “You’re not my mother!”

With every ounce of strength I could muster, I screamed, “Help! Anyone? Help me!”

She retrieved a syringe from the floor, wielding it like a weapon, the dark green liquid inside swirling ominously. The foul odor wafted toward me, a sickly sweet scent that made my skin crawl.

I backed away instinctively, my heart pounding as I approached the rooftop door, only to find it locked from the outside. I banged on it, desperation clawing at my throat, but it wouldn’t budge.

Dorothy circled me like a predator, her voice low and filled with malice. “Why did you bully Jillian? How dare you steal her place?”

I turned the handle again, but it was futile. I faced her, my voice barely steady as I asked, “What is that?”

She raised the syringe high, her grin twisted with madness. “This will make you crazy,” she declared, her eyes gleaming with delight.

“It’s concentrated wolfsbane extract,” she continued, her tone dripping with glee. “It causes intense hallucinations. It’s designed to break werewolves like you. One shot, and you’ll be hooked.”

Her laughter rang out, a cruel sound that pierced through the night. “Then I’ll push you off the roof. When the werewolves find you, they’ll think you overdosed and fell. Hahahaha!”

The weight of her words hung in the air, a dark promise that sent a chill racing down my spine.
