Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 251

**Chapter 251: Alliance Marriage Cancelled**

**Deanna’s POV:**

If you were to listen to Luis speak, you might think I was the one doing the bullying.

His aristocratic Alpha presence was so overwhelming, it felt like a spotlight shining down on us, drawing the eyes of every werewolf in the vicinity. The moment he casually let that “honey” slip from his lips, the whispers and stares felt like daggers piercing through me.

The silent gossip swirling around us was louder than a crowded room equipped with a microphone. I couldn’t help but feel utterly mortified.

Desperate to escape the spotlight, I stomped my foot in frustration, my heart racing as I made a beeline for his car.

Luis had a driver today—something he always opted for when attending business functions. He rarely took the wheel himself, preferring to sit back and let someone else handle the driving.

As I settled into the plush leather seat, I pressed myself against the door, turning my face away from him and pretending to doze off.

The driver, sensing the tension, started the engine. “Mr. Eaton, where to?”

“Crestwood Park—”

I shot up, my eyes wide open. “No! 18th Mistbane Street!” I interjected, my voice sharper than intended.

That address led to the Mistbane Mansion, the heart of the Mistbane Pack. Ever since Kathryn returned from Euron, I had moved back there, seeking refuge amidst the chaos.

Luis had mentioned moving me to a new villa, a fresh start, but with the sudden news of my pregnancy and all the turmoil that followed, those plans had been tossed aside like yesterday’s news.

The driver glanced nervously at Luis, unsure of how to proceed.

Luis, with a casual drawl that belied the tension in the air, replied, “Do as she says. If Ms. Deanna ends up in tears later, I’ll be the one who pays the price.”

I rolled my eyes dramatically.

I’m pregnant, not an emotional toddler. Who’s crying here?

I kept my eyes closed, hoping he would take the hint and leave me alone.

But of course, he didn’t.

Even with my eyes shut tight, I could feel his gaze boring into the side of my head, a persistent heat that refused to let me escape.

Then, his deep, velvet voice cut through the silence, calm yet impossible to ignore.

“Piggy, considering I just saved you, can you at least refrain from giving me the cold shoulder, hmm?”

My eyelids twitched in response. I cracked one eye open just enough to see the driver glancing at us in the rearview mirror, his expression one of shock—as if he had just stumbled upon a scandalous headline.

I opened both eyes fully and let out an exasperated huff. “This is just my regular face,” I retorted, trying to mask my irritation.

In an instant, I felt both trapped and oddly comforted. One of his arms secured my waist, while the other gently slid over my stomach, a warmth radiating through the fabric of my clothes.

His palm was warm, and I could feel the baby responding to his presence, delivering a tiny kick that startled me. I froze, my heart racing.

“It needs its father, too,” he said softly, his gaze softening in a way that made it difficult for me to breathe.

I turned my face away, squirming in his grip. “Let go, Luis. This is harassment.”

He remained unfazed, hitting the console with a decisive thud. The privacy divider rose, sealing us off from the driver. Suddenly, it was just the two of us, surrounded by his intoxicating scent and the tension that crackled in the air.

“Want me to call the Werewolf Enforcement Bureau and have them drag me off for holding my own mate?” he teased lazily, a smirk playing on his lips.

“Pervert,” I muttered, turning my face away, refusing to meet his gaze.

Sitting on his lap, I could feel every inch of his lean, sculpted muscles beneath me, radiating heat that crept up my skin like a slow burn.

“Deanna, I’m trying to have a real conversation with you,” he said, his tone shifting slightly, more serious now.

I continued to struggle against him. “There’s nothing left for us to discuss.”

“I canceled the alliance marriage.”
