**Chapter 262: I Want to Marry Deanna**
**Luis’s POV:**
As I stirred from sleep, the first thing that caught my eye was Grandma, intently focused on my phone. Her fingers danced over the screen with an urgency that was both puzzling and alarming.
When she finally noticed my gaze, her expression shifted from concentration to shock, as if she had been caught in a moment of mischief.
“Luis, when did you wake up?” she exclaimed, her voice a mix of surprise and concern.
I pushed myself up, the sheets falling away as I reached for the phone she had been holding. My voice emerged raspy, a remnant of my restless slumber.
“What did you delete?” I asked, my brow furrowing as I scanned her face for any hint of the truth.
Her eyes flitted away, avoiding my piercing stare. “Nothing, I just saw your phone and…” she trailed off, her words fading into an uncomfortable silence.
I quickly scrolled through my messages, searching for anything amiss, but everything appeared normal. Still, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. My gaze returned to her, sharp and questioning.
Suddenly, Grandma clutched her chest, gasping for air as panic washed over her features. “My chest feels tight. My head hurts, too,” she managed to say, her voice trembling.
From the doorway, Alina, ever vigilant, caught wind of the commotion and swiftly called for the doctors and nurses.
In no time, they burst in, their presence commanding and filled with purpose, bringing medical equipment that seemed to hum with urgency.
I leaned back against the bed, my heart racing as I watched the flurry of activity. The doctors took turns checking Grandma’s blood pressure, their expressions serious as they administered shots and murmured medical jargon I couldn’t comprehend.
Gradually, color returned to her cheeks, a small relief amidst the chaos. I remained silent, my eyes fixed on her, absorbing every detail, every rise and fall of her chest.
“How is she?” I finally asked, breaking the heavy silence that hung in the air.
The doctor looked up, offering a reassuring nod. “Mrs. Eaton is fine. Her blood pressure spiked, likely due to a combination of being up all night and the shock of waking you.”
I tapped my phone a few times, feeling a mix of frustration and relief. “You all can go now,” I said, dismissing them with a wave of my hand.
The doctors and nurses filed out, leaving the door gently closed behind them, the quiet settling back into the room.
Grandma, attempting to muster a smile, said, “Luis, you just woke up. You need rest. Let the elders handle Mooncrown Pack business for now.”
I couldn’t hold back any longer. “Was that call from Deanna just now?” I asked, my voice flat, devoid of the warmth I usually reserved for her.
Her frown deepened, a storm brewing in her eyes. “What are you getting at?”
I lowered my gaze, studying my phone for a moment, gathering my thoughts.
“This isn’t something I planned to say, but…” I took a deep breath, my heart pounding. “Grandma, I want to marry Deanna.”
The shock in Ruth’s eyes was palpable, her expression morphing from disbelief to anger.
“Do you know that the moment something happened to you, your Uncle Grant was ready to come back from Euron and fight for control of the pack? You should be thinking about how to protect Mooncrown Pack, not chasing after romance. If you hadn’t refused the Blackcreek Pack alliance, I wouldn’t have had to do any of this.”
“I’m not asking for your approval. I’m telling you I’m marrying Deanna,” I asserted, my voice steady yet firm.
I narrowed my eyes, determination surging within me. “And as for Grant, it’s about time I dealt with him, too.”
Grandma turned away, dismissing me with a wave of her hand. “Enough. I’m tired. I’m going to rest.”
With that, she motioned for Alina to assist her, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
Once the room fell silent, I picked up my phone again, dialing Deanna’s number with a sense of urgency.
Ring… ring…
The phone rang endlessly, but there was no answer.
Just then, Aaron entered, his demeanor respectful yet serious. “Mr. Eaton, your sudden illness has caused some turbulence with the company’s stock. You may need to hold a shareholder meeting to steady things.”
I glanced at the missed call on my screen, the urgency of the situation weighing heavily on me.
“Send someone to the D Hotel and bring Deanna home first. Take care of anything she needs,” I ordered, my mind racing with thoughts of the future and the challenges that lay ahead.
