Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 267

**Chapter 267: There’s a Mermaid Here**

**Zelena’s POV:**

My thoughts spiraled in a relentless loop, each replay of the evening’s events a stab of confusion and regret. How had everything unraveled so quickly?

Before I could gather my scattered thoughts, Luis seized my wrist with a grip that felt like iron, dragging me toward the sleek, transparent glass door that stood before us. His expression was devoid of any compassion, an emotionless mask that sent a chill down my spine.

With a swift motion, he flung the door open, revealing the serene beauty of the outside world. A koi pond stretched endlessly, its shimmering surface reflecting the opulence of the high-end suites that surrounded it.

“Ah!”

An unexpected force propelled me forward, and before I comprehended what was happening, I felt a sharp shove at my lower back. Luis had kicked me into the pond, and the icy water enveloped me in an instant.

The shock of the cold water pierced through my thin dress, which clung to my body like a second skin, leaving nothing to the imagination. My heart raced as I surfaced, gasping for breath, the chill seeping into my bones.

As I struggled to regain my composure, I noticed a crowd spilling out from the suite, their eyes wide with a mix of surprise and delight.

“Hey, look! There’s a mermaid here!” one of the men called out, his voice dripping with mockery.

“Why not take it all off and dance for us!” another jeered, laughter echoing around me.

Their leering gazes crawled over my soaked form, and I felt a wave of humiliation wash over me. I wanted nothing more than to disappear, to sink into the depths of the pond and escape their prying eyes. Clutching at the remnants of my dress, I tried to cover myself, but it was a futile effort.

Luis stood at the edge of the pond, unfazed, casually plucking a towel from a server’s tray and wiping his hands as if he hadn’t just thrown me into the water. His indifference ignited a fire of rage within me, a scream clawing at my throat.

Just then, Mason burst onto the scene, his expression a mix of confusion and anger.

“Mr. Eaton, what the hell is going on?” he demanded, his voice cutting through the laughter.

Luis tossed the towel at him with a flick of his wrist. “Keep your own woman in line,” he retorted, his tone dismissive, before striding away without a backward glance.

Mason’s gaze sharpened as he turned to a staff member. “Get her out of there!” he barked, urgency lacing his words.

When I was finally pulled from the water, I was wrapped in a scratchy towel, shivering not just from the cold but from the rage boiling inside me.

Mason stormed over, his expression fierce. “What the hell did you do?” he demanded, concern mingling with anger.

With red-rimmed eyes, I pleaded, “Mr. Davenport, you have to help me.”

“Help you? What do you want me to do? Take on the Mooncrown Pack for you? Are you out of your mind? That’s the oldest pack in Nordvale! Why would I stick my neck out against Mr. Eaton?” he snapped, incredulity coloring his tone.

“That’s not what I meant! I just don’t think you deserve to be treated like this. Mr. Eaton only did it to provoke you,” I insisted, my voice rising with desperation.

Mason stroked his chin, his gaze lingering on me in a way that made my skin crawl. “Well, you’re not bad to look at,” he remarked, his eyes assessing me with an unsettling intensity.

In that moment, I realized I had landed myself in an even worse predicament than I had imagined.

“Mr. Davenport, please, let me go take a shower,” I implored, trying to regain some semblance of dignity.

“What for? Just come here already!” he commanded, his voice brooking no argument.

He marched over, and before I could react, he tore at my dress, the fabric ripping apart with a sound that echoed in the room.

“Ah!” I gasped, a mix of shock and fear coursing through me as I realized the gravity of my situation.
