Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 292

**Chapter 292: Staying the Night**

**Deanna’s POV:**

“Deanna, can you make some room for me in your heart?”

Those words landed in my mind like a stone tossed into a still pond, sending ripples of shock and confusion radiating through my thoughts.

I found myself captivated by Luis’s flawless features, his earnest expression pulling at something deep within me. My voice faltered, barely escaping my lips, “R-room… for you?”

With a soft click of his teeth, he spoke again, his voice steady and resolute, “I want you to love me.”

“I—”

But the words I intended to say never fully formed.

In an unexpected rush, Luis seized the back of my head, his lips crashing against mine in a kiss that felt both electrifying and disarming. His whispered words broke against my mouth, “It’s okay. It’s fine if I’m the only one who loves you.”

Boom!

It was as if a bolt of lightning had struck my mind, leaving it ringing with disbelief.

What… did he just say?

He said… love?

I stood frozen, my eyes wide with astonishment, momentarily forgetting to push him away. I could see my own shock reflected in the depths of his gaze, a mirror of my own bewilderment.

My heart raced within my chest, each beat echoing like a drum, a painful reminder of the emotions swirling inside me.

My fingers found their way to his chest, slowly curling inward, gripping the fabric of his expensive shirt as if it were my lifeline.

An indescribable wave of emotion surged from the very depths of my heart, sweeping through my body and leaving me feeling utterly weak and vulnerable.

His intoxicating scent mingled with his natural pheromones filled the air around us, wrapping around me like a warm, inescapable embrace. There was no escape from this moment.

After what felt like an eternity, Luis relaxed his grip, slipping back into his familiar, laid-back demeanor as if the passionate plea for love had never left his lips.

He playfully pinched my earlobe, his voice low and teasing, “Stay with me tonight? Consider it a reward for making you happy today.”

I understood he was referring to the way I had taught Mason a lesson, a small victory that had brought me a fleeting sense of satisfaction.

“Really? I thought she wasn’t scared of anything.”

“Maybe she’s just been feeling lonely staying by herself lately.” I forced myself to continue the deceit, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “I’m not going home tonight. I’ll come home after my appointment tomorrow.”

“Okay. Then get some rest tonight.”

As I hung up, Luis turned to me, his smile bright and playful. “So obedient? It makes me want to spoil you. What should I do?”

I lowered my gaze, my voice barely above a whisper, “I have my second check-up tomorrow.”

Luis chuckled, a warm sound that wrapped around me like a comforting blanket. “Yeah, yeah. I know you’re only staying because of the appointment.”

Outside, the rain began to pour, blurring the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Thunder boomed and lightning split the night sky, illuminating everything in stark contrast.

I stood by the window, arms crossed, lost in the chaotic beauty of the storm.

At some point, Luis had moved closer, wrapping his arms around me from behind, resting his chin on my hair.

“Didn’t you say you were afraid of thunder? Why are you still watching?” he asked, his voice a gentle murmur against the backdrop of the raging storm.
