**Chapter 345: Luis’s First Love**
**Deanna’s POV:**
Luis enveloped me in his embrace from behind, his chin resting comfortably on my shoulder. “From now on, this place is open to you whenever you wish,” he declared, his voice warm and inviting.
I let out a small scoff, trying to maintain an air of indifference. “I’m not that bored. I’m not here to check up on you,” I retorted, attempting to sound nonchalant.
“You…” Luis teased, pinching my cheek playfully. “You know, most people wouldn’t even have the chance to step foot in here if they wanted to.”
“Then go find someone else,” I shot back, feigning disinterest.
“Not a chance,” he replied firmly, a hint of mischief in his eyes. “My heart is already full. There’s simply no room left for anyone else.”
His words ignited a warmth within me, and I couldn’t help but smile as it tugged at my lips. I leaned back against his sturdy chest, feeling the reassuring strength of him behind me. Turning my head slightly, I caught a glimpse of his profile—the sharp lines of his nose and the defined angle of his jaw were captivating. Every time I gazed at his face, my heart raced, fluttering like a bird trapped in a cage.
Suddenly, memories flooded back of the last time I had entered this space. It had been a pivotal moment, one filled with tension and anticipation—the day I transferred the remaining four billion to the Misthane Group. It was also the day Luis had laid bare his feelings, expressing his desire for me to be his girlfriend. That moment had marked the beginning of our story, a tale woven with promises and uncertainty.
Reflecting on that significant day, I reached out and gently tapped his arm with my finger, curiosity bubbling inside me. “So, tell me, when you asked me to be your girlfriend that day, was it all part of some grand plan?” I inquired, my voice laced with intrigue.
Luis lowered his head, his lips brushing against my earlobe as he spoke in a low, sultry tone, “Guess you’re not as clueless as you look.”
My heart skipped a beat, and my eyelashes fluttered in surprise. After a brief pause, I found the courage to ask softly, “Luis, do you really like me?”
Was it genuine affection, or merely a consequence of fate? Did he feel something for me because I happened to be carrying his child? Or was it simply because I was decent-looking?
“Not even going to take a look at the photo before you leave?” he asked, his curiosity piqued.
I squeezed my eyes shut, frustration boiling over as I snapped, “I don’t want to! Everyone has a past. I don’t want to mess with yours!”
Luis chuckled, a deep, resonant sound that vibrated through his chest. “Deanna, what kind of nonsense are you imagining, huh?”
“It’s not nonsense!” I shot back defensively.
“Then why won’t you look? Are you scared you’ll see some other girl?” he countered, hitting the nail on the head. The truth stung, igniting a mix of anger and embarrassment within me. I tried to turn away, but he caught my hand, holding me in place.
In an instant, Luis pulled me close by the waist, lifting me back into his arms with ease. With his free hand, he retrieved the photo, holding it right in front of my face. “Do I really have to introduce you to yourself?” he asked slowly, his tone teasing yet serious.
