Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 395

Third-person POV:

The gavel hit the block with a sharp crack.

"A hundred million dollars, third call! Sold! Congratulations to Ms. Barkley of the Bluestone Pack for winning The Pack's Pursuit!"

Victoria almost fainted on the spot.

It felt like half her life savings had just evaporated.

Jennifer stared at Deanna with pure hatred, like she wanted to shift into her wolf form and tear her apart right there.

Violet glanced at Victoria and Jennifer. Their expressions looked like the world had ended, and honestly—it felt amazing to watch.

"Deanna, when you yelled 80 million, I thought my heart was going to stop. I was scared that idiot Jennifer wouldn't take the bait."

Deanna toyed with her bidding paddle.

"With someone as arrogant as her? She's always trying to crush me under her heel. Of course, she'd lose her temper. Shouting 100 million isn't surprising at all."

Even so, nothing in life was guaranteed.

If Jennifer hadn't followed the bid, Deanna would've ended up buying a worthless painting for 80 million.

Violet asked, "What if she had suddenly sobered up and realized something was off, and didn't raise the price?"

Deanna's lips curved. "It would've been fine either way."

Violet blinked. She stared at Deanna for a moment.

Deanna was still the same best friend she had known for years, but something about her felt different.

After thinking it over, Violet figured it had to be confidence—confidence that came from being backed by that top-tier Alpha of the Mooncrown Pack.

Somehow, without anyone noticing, Deanna had changed into a woman who could play with capital and control a room with ease.

The more love someone receives, the more they bloom like a flower.

Right now, Violet felt that sentence described Deanna perfectly.

The charity auction ended, and the host quickly moved on to the next segment.

And the first row was exactly where Deanna and Violet were sitting.

Jennifer walked forward in her three-inch heels. She clenched her fists, trying hard to hold back the urge to slap Deanna as she passed—just to vent the rage still burning from that "100 million dollars."

Right at that moment, as Jennifer walked by, Violet casually stretched out her leg.

Jennifer didn't notice. She kept walking.

"Ah!"

She tripped and almost fell flat on her face.

Trying to catch herself, she reached out toward the person beside her.

But Deanna simply slapped Jennifer's hand away, and Jennifer fell straight to the floor.

Violet laughed out loud.

"Ms. Barkley, why are you so nervous?"
