Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 403

Deanna's POV:

I thought it was a company message.

Ever since I got sick, a lot of work had piled up.

So, I didn't think much and swiped it open.

Instead, a nasty photo filled my screen.

The photo showed a man and a woman in an intimate, almost domestic scene.

And the man was someone I knew far too well—Luis.

The background was the living room of the Mooncrown Pack's estate. Luis was lounging lazily on the sofa, his long legs stretched out, one hand propping up his head and partly hiding his eyes.

Lindsay was half-kneeling beside the couch, reaching out as if to lightly rest her hand on his arm. In the photo, her gaze was fixed on Luis, greedy and damp with an unmistakable longing.

It was obvious the photo had been taken years ago.

Right after that, another message popped up on my phone. "If you want to know what really happened in that photo, come alone to the old warehouse in the suburbs."

At such a sensitive time—right in the middle of Mooncrown Corporation's corporate summit—

This person deliberately sent me this photo and lured me to a deserted place. I didn't need to think to know they had an agenda.

Even so, my stomach still twisted violently. My fingers went numb, and the phone slipped from my hand, falling onto the floor of the car.

Bryson heard the clatter and turned fast. "Ms. Wiley, what's wrong?"

I pressed my lips together tightly, clenched my hand, and thought for a moment before saying, "Bryson, we're not going to Mistbane Group."

Third-person POV:

Mooncrown Corporation, a massive business empire, was holding its annual corporate summit today.

The conference room at headquarters was enormous, large enough to seat nearly a hundred people.

One entire wall was formed by three giant screens seamlessly joined into a single projection display, clearly presenting every detail.

Everyone attending the summit was either a shareholder of Mooncrown Corporation or a highly respected elder within the pack.

Max pressed his lips together. His gaze flicked toward Harry before he went on, "That's not the information I've received.

"The reason overseas profits fell so sharply is that when Alpha called off his engagement with Blackcreek Pack in Sudland, he unconditionally transferred GL Group to Blackcreek Pack. GL's assets alone generate tens of billions annually. That directly impacted Mooncrown Corporation's overseas subsidiaries, resulting in the 15 percent decline."

The shareholders and elders below remained silent, but their expressions visibly darkened.

On stage, Samuel swallowed hard.

This involved Luis's personal affairs.

Speaking was risky.

Say nothing, and it's worse.

He sneaked a look at the elegant man in the main seat, silently asking for help.

Luis closed the folder in his hands unhurriedly, lifted his gaze lazily, and glanced at Max.

"Did you not receive your Mooncrown Corporation dividends this year?"
