Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 405

Third-person POV:

Stephen, the Fifth Elder, belonged to the same generation as Luis's grandfather.

Among everyone present, he was without question the most senior and respected.

Under normal circumstances, Stephen had no intention of interfering too much in corporate affairs.

But recently, Harry and Carey had approached him one after another, telling him a few things.

According to them, the woman Luis intended to marry—Deanna—was vicious and morally corrupt.

Worse still, Luis had indulged her, brought her into Mooncrown Pack, and even placed Ruth under house confinement for her sake.

True, under Luis's leadership, Mooncrown Corporation's assets had multiplied several times over.

But young leaders were often arrogant, overly confident, and dismissive of experience.

They refused to listen to the elders.

They showed no respect for tradition.

How could Mooncrown Pack accept a Luna with such questionable morals and such an insignificant family background? This whole marriage was a farce.

As an elder, Stephen believed it was his duty to correct Luis's misguided behavior—otherwise, it would eventually ruin him.

Stephen spoke slowly, his voice sharp and commanding.

"This year, Mooncrown Corporation invested eight billion into Mistbane Pack's commercial expansion. Based on return-on-investment comparisons, this project has the lowest yield among all Mooncrown projects. Mr. Eaton, you're using your position to push your own interests. How is that a rational decision?

"Furthermore, the announcement of your marriage caused fluctuations in Mooncrown Corporation's stock price. Are you worthy of the president's seat?"

Ever since Mooncrown Corporation announced Luis's engagement to Deanna, dissatisfaction had been brewing.

But no one had dared challenge him openly.

Now that Stephen had spoken, many seized the chance, emboldened by his status, and began voicing their opinions.

"Mr. Eaton, your marriage isn't something we can interfere with, but if it destabilizes Mooncrown Corporation, that's another matter."

"That's right. Using Mooncrown resources to funnel money into Mistbane Pack's malls—no matter if you're president, you still owe shareholders accountability."

"If you had allied with Blackcreek Pack instead, none of this would've happened. Our overseas expansion would've gone much smoother."

"Young people are too hotheaded—too arrogant, too domineering. This isn't how you run a company."

On the stage.

Samuel was pacing anxiously, completely at a loss.

He couldn't stand still, couldn't step down, totally stuck.

Meanwhile, Luis remained in his seat. His sharply defined face revealed no emotion as his fingers tapped lightly against the tabletop, unhurried and steady.

Aaron suddenly received troubling news.

He hesitated, unsure whether to report it.

He knew these people were clinging to Luis like rabid wolves—this summit was a battlefield, and Luis couldn't afford to walk off it.

But he also knew exactly what Deanna meant to him.

Aaron closed his eyes briefly, thought for a moment, then stepped forward and lowered his voice.

"Mr. Eaton, Ms. Wiley's guards were intercepted by a group that appeared out of nowhere. By the time it was handled, the Rolls-Royce was already gone. We've also confirmed Luna never arrived at Mistbane Group."

Put simply, Deanna was missing.
