“I need to be with her,” I muttered, more to myself than to him.

I narrowed my eyes. “Why are you smiling like that?”

He shook his head quickly. “It’s nothing, Alpha.”

I scoffed and lightly hit his arm playfully. “You’re hiding something.”

He only chuckled as I wheeled away, heading toward my room, my thoughts already consumed by her.

When I got to my room, the lights were out. Panic flared briefly in my chest. Where was she? And why were the lights off?
