Chapter 120 Hope
Gillian was the golden cleric, Hope
Gillian stepped out of the medical chamber and spotted Merrick at once.
“Gillian, how did it go?”

Merrick frowned slightly when no one followed her out. He wondered if she had failed to save those trapped females.
“What do you hope the outcome is?”
Gillian blinked, wearing a deliberately unfathomable look.
Merrick caught the faint, expectant glint in her eyes. He knew she had gone all out and used every skill she possessed to heal those females.
“Gillian, you always complete every task perfectly.”
His voice was soft and laced with undisguised fondness.
He lived by one simple rule when it came to his partner, and that was to praise her wholeheartedly.
The open warmth in his gaze left Gillian stunned. “You knew I could cure them all along?”
“Of course, I knew. You’re more than capable. This was never a difficult task for you.”
“Since when did you find out?”
Had he known about her special healing power this entire time?
Merrick wore a triumphant smile, now that she had figured out he had known her secret for a long time.
Gillian had thought she kept her dual attributes well concealed. But the knowing look on Merrick’s face the moment she saw him now told her everything. Her secret had never been hidden at all.
“When did you figure it out? Was it back in my dormitory?”
She desperately wanted to know exactly when she had exposed herself.
“Do you really want me to say?”
“Tell me now!”
Seeing his mate ready to settle scores, Merrick coughed lightly. “It was even earlier than that.”
Earlier? Did he find out during their core bond?
“You threw yourself at me voluntarily back then. I never stole or forced anything.”

Merrick acted as if he had been the one caught off guard.
Gillian fell silent. It all made sense now. Merrick had sent her to treat these females this morning because he had been completely certain she could save them.
What a cunning, cold-blooded beastman.
“Aren’t you afraid I would refuse to help?” Gillian let out a cold huff.
“Gillian, you would never refuse.”
Seeing she was not going to press further, Merrick tapped his wrist terminal and sent a compressed file to her device.
“These thirty people are all yours. This is their full personal data. Now, will you come have dinner with me?”
Gillian opened the file and saw nearly a hundred detailed records, each labeled with a clear name.
Evelyn and Harper’s files were both included.
She realized what it was, and her heart tightened instantly.
“Merrick, thank you for wiping out the Grayson family.”
“Hmm?” Merrick raised a faint brow.
“Thank you, honey.”
“Good girl.”
Sylas and Tristan walked out in time to see Gillian smiling sweetly up at Merrick. She wore a completely different, softer side in front of him.
Sylas stepped forward and spoke in a quiet tone. “Captain Sterling, all their test reports are normal now. What arrangements would you like to make for them?”
Gillian turned toward the treatment room, where the thirty females waited anxiously.
She then saluted Merrick formally. “Commander Cole, the medical team is severely understaffed. I request the official deployment of these thirty females to our unit.”
Merrick returned her salute with equal formality.
“Request approved. Captain Sterling, submit a formal application later. They must pass standard unit assessments. I do not allow special treatment. Only qualified medical personnel may stay in the 9th Legion.”
“Thank you. Commander!”
Gillian smiled openly. She lowered her hand and glanced toward the dim treatment room.
