Chapter 95 Warm Reception

Chapter 95 Warm Reception

“I sent it straight to Merrick already, so you do not need to forward it again.”

Gillian pulled up the sent record on her terminal for him to see clearly.

Sylas froze halfway, ready to receive the file himself.

He had not expected her to send the report directly to Black Rick.

“Sylas, may I leave now?”

Seeing how cooperative she was, Sylas nodded in approval. “You are free to go.”

Gillian walked past him toward the exit.

Sylas felt he ought to say something more. Glancing at the waiting beastman soldiers outside, he raised his voice slightly.

“Mrs. Cole, will you still take in patients this afternoon?”

Gillian kept walking and replied in a soft yet firm tone.

“I will. I feel fully recovered. Start calling patients in twenty minutes.”

She thought of those beastmen suffering from scale mutation on their bodies, hoping to offer more help to them.

“Understood.”

Gillian winked at Freya and led her away.

Freya shot a confused look at Sylas. He was always quiet and reserved on ordinary days, yet he talked far more than usual today.

Sylas watched Gillian leave with a strange sense of unease.

Brown eyes behind his glasses glinted faintly. He stepped before the medical scanner and tried to pull up the latest inspection record, only to see nothing but messy coded symbols.

He paused his fingers briefly, then closed the window quietly.

Gillian’s health report is encrypted.

He could tell Gillian was hiding some secret from everyone.

Gillian soon realized they were in Hall One instead of Hall Five. The two headed straight for Hall Five along the corridor.

Numerous staff and soldiers greeted them warmly on the way. Freya was quite surprised by Gillian’s outstanding popularity here.

“I am fine now. Those who need treatment may register ahead of time. Consultation will start in twenty

minutes.”

Many beastman soldiers who came for pain relief medicine hurried off to sign up.

They had thought they would leave empty-handed that day.

Freya sighed softly. “You have only stayed here for two days. How did you win over these tough fellows so quickly?”

Over the past three years, soldiers held mixed feelings toward clerics, yet their attitude had turned extremely warm all of a sudden.

“Everyone here carries their own hardships.”

Gillian unlocked her office door and spoke to the medical staff outside. “Start arranging patient numbers in fifteen minutes.”

“Yes, Captain Sterling.”

“I will not go inside with you. I still have plenty of logistics work to finish, so I need to head back.”

“Come in for a moment first.”

Gillian pulled Freya into her private office and begged her to keep her pregnancy strictly confidential.

Freya had no idea how Gillian covered up the truth during the physical check.

She still believed Merrick deserved to know such great news.

“Why do you keep this from the commander? This is such happy news.”

Freya seated Gillian gently, reminding her to take good care of herself.

“You are already this cautious the moment you find out.” A bitter smile crossed Gillian’s face.

“If Merrick learns the truth, I am afraid he will confine me closely and stop me from helping clear the taint in the medical team. Let us wait until I can no longer hide it, alright?”

Freya followed her gaze toward the treatment area. She saw countless exhausted soldiers waiting quietly in pain.

She fell into deep hesitation and could not refute Gillian’s words.

Knowing Merrick’s personality, he would surely keep Gillian under full protection day and night once he knew she was with child.
