Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 102

Chapter 102

(52),

Maxwell had no choice but to set Aurora down. The moment her toes touched the ground, her body went limp, leaning against him. She then staggered, trying to make her way to the door.

Only then did Maxwell realize that Aurora wasn’t fully awake. Her eyes were unfocused, and she seemed disoriented, stumbling around without a clear direction.

What he hadn’t expected was her heightened sense of caution. Just holding her for a moment had triggered her resistance.

Concerned she might fall, Maxwell followed her, occasionally steadying her as they made their way to the hotel entrance.

Alaric, trailing behind, was stunned. This girl’s got some moves. She fought back the moment Maxwell touched her.

They finally reached the entrance, where Aurora looked like she was about to collapse. But every time Maxwell tried to help, she instinctively dodged him.

The screech of car brakes filled the air as a black Maybach pulled up. Security approached to stop the car but retreated when they met the driver’s gaze.

This was someone they couldn’t afford to mess with.

Heath Fairbank strode up the steps and effortlessly lifted Aurora into his arms.

Alaric was shocked. Heath, be careful! The future Ms. Fairbank knows how to choke people!

Aurora felt herself lifted, and a familiar, icy scent filled her nostrils. She managed to open her eyes and saw Heath had come. She snuggled into his arms and fell soundly asleep.

Alaric was speechless. So her attacks are selective?

Heath carried Aurora to his car, leaving Maxwell standing at the hotel entrance, stunned.

It bothered him that Aurora allowed Heath to carry her without any resistance, while she wouldn’t even let him touch her. He didn’t want

to think about what this subconscious difference meant.

Heath drove to his Mansion, parked at the entrance, and looked at Aurora, who was peacefully asleep in the passenger seat. He felt a mix of irritation and affection. How could he be attracted to someone so carefree?

He got out, walked around to the passenger side, and lifted Aurora out of the car, carrying her into the mansion.

Inside, her grandpa was in the living room. His butler, Leen, announced, Sir, the young lady has returned.

Grandpa looked up. Indeed, she had returned, but in Heath Fairbank’s arms.

She’s drunk. I brought her back, Heath said.

Grandpa nodded. Take her to her room. Let her sleep it off.

Heath carried Aurora upstairs. A servant guided him to her bedroom. The room was dim, lit only by the faint light coming through the

window.

He gently laid her on the bed. As he stood up, she grabbed his collar, causing him to stumble but regain his balance. Her peaceful sleeping face was right in front of him, her warm breath fanning his face.

He took a deep breath, gently pried her hand off his collar, and said softly, Rory, let go.

Aurora tightened her grip, seemingly unhappy with his actions.

Heath felt a surge of frustration. He was a perfectly normal man, wasn’t he?

He used some force to unclasp her hand, sat beside her on the bed, and smoothed her disheveled hair.

I’m sorryAurora mumbled.

What?Heath couldn’t hear clearly.

I’m sorry, she repeated softly, her voice tinged with a sob.

He could barely see her eyes in the dim light, but he sensed the hidden tears.

He leaned down and kissed her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin, flushed from the alcohol.

A cool sensation touched her forehead, and Aurora closed her eyes. Heath’s soothing voice resonated above her, Rory, like I’ve said, I’ll

wait for you.

In the quiet night, the large French windows framed the faint lights outside, casting dark halos around the two figures.

Heath, who had been harboring resentment for her sudden departure, forgot all about it when he heard her apology.

He was usually cold and decisive, but at this moment, he spoke softly and slowly, as if making a vow.

Rory, between us, you never have to apologize. I will wait for you.

Heath stood up and left the room. Aurora turned over, tears wetting her pillow.

She hadn’t gotten blackout drunk this time. She clearly felt Heath’s embrace and found comfort in it.

Her apology was filled with guilt and fear, but all her attempts to escape vanished when she heard Heath say, I will wait for you.

Heath went downstairs to find the grandpa still sitting in the living room.

Heath, come sit,the old man beckoned.

Heath sat down on the sofa, and Grandpa took a sip of his tea before speaking, Heath, Aurora is young and naive. She’s never been pampered, but she’s still my granddaughter. I can tell she’s been upset these days. I’m not good at comforting people, and she won’t talk

about it. But I think you’re the only one who could make her this sad.

Heath nodded, It’s my fault that Aurora is upset.

The old man sighed, I’m not blaming you, Heath. I’ve been friends with your father for years; I know what he’s like. If your family can’t accept Aurora, I won’t force you two.

Heath Fairbank and the Fairbank family are not the same,Heath clarified.

The old man looked into Heath’s sincere eyes and sighed, If you’re willing to treat Aurora well, I won’t object. But she’s complicated, so please be patient with her.

Heath nodded, Of course, Aurora is still young.

After some small talk, Heath stood up to leave. Leen, the butler, approached the old man, Sir, you really do care for the young lady!

She’s had a hard life; how could I not care? Our family has already wronged her mother; we can’t wrong her too,the old man sighed.

Sir, every generation has its own luck. The young lady is smart and capable; she won’t suffer,Leen comforted.

Let’s hope so. Tell the chef to prepare some porridge for tomorrow morning. Aurora drank too much; she might not be able to eat solid

food, the old man instructed.

Understood, sir. You should go to bed,Leen helped the old man to his room.
