The next day.
Aurora came downstairs, and Grandpa greeted her to join him for breakfast. “Come on, the kitchen staff has been simmering porridge for you all morning. Have some.”
Aurora took a seat and sipped her porridge obediently. Seeing her in better spirits, Grandpa asked, “Hey, the semester’s almost over. You going to school today?”
Aurora nodded. “Yep, going to school. Meeting up with Vespera later.”
Grandpa suggested, “Since you don’t drive, want me to arrange a chauffeur for you?”
Aurora’s eyes light up. “Nah, Grandpa. Let me find someone myself–someone who knows a bit of martial arts and can double as a bodyguard.”
Grandpa approved. “Sounds good. Once you find someone, have Leen vet him, and we’ll pay him from the family funds.”
After breakfast, Aurora stepped outside and dialed Jay, who picked up the phone lamenting dramatically, “Aurora! How much longer do you expect me to hide out in Seaview? Jasper and Carly have left! I’m bored out of my mind in this gigantic villa!”
Aurora sighed, “Wanna come to the capital and be my bodyguard?”
Jay scoffed, “Me, a renowned assassin, working as your bodyguard? Feels like a downgrade.”
“Renowned? You’ve only had two jobs so far,” Aurora countered.
“… When do we go?” Jay caved in.
Aurora smiled. “Pack now. I’ll book a flight for this afternoon. You’ll be here by evening.”
Jay leaped up. “Alright! See you in the capital!”
After hanging up, Aurora felt uplifted. Maybe some things don’t need to be run away from–like Jay, a friend from her past she can neither avoid nor give up on.
The driver picked up Vespera from her home, and the two headed to school,
Aurora’s midterm grades were top–notch, so her sporadic attendance didn’t draw any ire from her teachers. When she’s free, she still dropped by for classes.
Killing time on her phone, Aurora stumbled upon a trending novel, “War Against Fate.” It tells the tale of Dylan, a wealthy playboy, and Yasmine, a nightclub singer who are brought together during a war. Dylan’s family loses their fortune, Yasmine takes him in, but he continues his wayward lifestyle. Only after Yasmine dies protecting him does he realize his follies and joins the army.
What makes this novel captivating are the contrasting personalities: Dylan, the hedonistic playboy, and Yasmine, the mature, civic–minded singer.

The comments section was filled with people hoping it’ll get adapted into a movie or TV series. Aurora decided this golden opportunity is
hers to seize.
She promptly contacted the original author, who says he’s willing to sell the rights to her if she can cast his envisioned Dylan and Yasmine.
Aurora immediately called Cheryl. “Long time no talk. Remember you said you wanted me to make you famous?”
Cheryl replied, “Of course, I’ve never gone back.on my word!”
“Great, I’ve got a role for you. Come to the capital after your college exams,” says Aurora.
“No problem, I was planning on applying to universities in the capital anyway,” agreed Cheryl.
Aurora was convinced that Cheryl, with her alluring yet heroic visage, is the Yasmine she’s looking for.
Now the issue was finding Dylan, the wayward young man.
Just then, Vespera said, “There are plenty of wealthy young scions in the capital, why not pick one who’s into acting?”
Aurora paused, Yes, there are plenty of them, like Silas, but he makes her skin crawl.
“Zane Strider from the Strider family has acted in a couple of films. He’s good–looking but has a terrible attitude,” Vespera suggested, showing Aurora a photo.
In it, a striking young man in racing gear stands next to a black race car, helmet in hand, a cocky grin on his face.
He’s the epitome of youthful arrogance but with a compelling charm. His smile oozes overconfidence, yet his eyes are piercingly clear. Just like what Dylan should be.
Aurora hugged Vespera. “You’re a lifesaver!”
She called up Alaric Strider.
‘Sober yet?‘ he joked as he picked up.
Aurora sighed and got to the point. “Does your family have someone named Zane?”
“Yeah, my younger brother. Why?” Alaric inquired.
“I want him for a film role,” Aurora announced.
‘Look, he’s a spoiled brat. Even I can’t handle him. Are you sure?” Alaric warns.
“I want to meet him first, then I’ll decide,” she insisted.
“Fine. I’m racing with some buddies in a few days. You should come with Heath, and I’ll bring my brother along. But remember, this wasn’t my idea,” Alaric stipulated.
