Zane lay on the ground, clutching his head. The extras gave him a few symbolic kicks, and the take was done.

Zane dusted himself off. He’d never been hit this much except around Aurora.

In a torrential downpour, Dylan lay injured in the mud, thinking maybe it would be easier to just die. Life had nothing left to offer.

The rain above him suddenly stopped. Dylan opened his eyes to see a white umbrella blocking his view. Yasmine’s charming face came into sight.

The director yelled “Cut!” again, “Dylan, could you not look at Yasmine like some creep? You’re a ruined aristocrat who’s lost hope in life. You’re not supposed to be ogling at a beauty.”

Cheryl blushed and went to touch up her makeup. Zane awkwardly scratched his nose. It wasn’t his fault; the makeup artist had made Cheryl look too good.

In the next take, Dylan looked at Yasmine’s face, which had captivated all of the city, but his eyes were devoid of light. He smirked sarcastically. How low he had sunk, to be pitied by a lowly singer.

Aurora watched their performance. She knew she’d made the right choice. Zane was a real gem.

Ever since Zane had given up using a stunt double and fully embraced Aurora’s direction, he’d completely become Dylan.

Zane and Cheryl’s chemistry improved, easing Aurora’s worries. She trusted the director Alaric had found to bring out the best in War Against Fate.

Sophia was heavily promoting her show Youth, even though it hadn’t aired yet. Screenshots were all over the internet for fans to drool

over.

Evelyn was busy promoting Sophia’s show and attending events with Silas, who’d gained a large fan following thanks to his good looks.

Daxton’s popularity soared after Shaw’s concert. Aurora seized the opportunity to start promoting his first album. Fairview Media was finally on the right track.

Winters called Aurora to come to Harmony. As soon as she arrived, she saw Yvonne berating a young star. Not as aggressively as Evelyn, but still pretty sarcastic.

In Winters’s office, Winters got straight to the point, “Did Evelyn do this?”

Aurora sat down leisurely, “You already know the answer, why ask me?”

Winters was fuming, “If I hadn’t promoted her back then, she wouldn’t be where she is now. And now she dares to challenge me?”

Aurora poured her a glass of water, “Come on, you’ve known what Evelyn is like for ages. Don’t get worked up.”

Winters took a sip of water, “Who’s even making War Against Fate? There’s no info. How could the female lead be Yvonne? Evelyn is just a mad dog biting anyone.”

Aurora chuckled, “Yep, Evelyn is indeed a mad dog.”

Winters clenched her teeth, “We can’t let this go.”

Aurora suggested, “How about we give her a taste of her own medicine?”

Winters looked at her, “What do you have in mind?”

Aurora said, “She’s currently promoting Silas and Sophia. Messing with either would hurt her. Didn’t Harmony just sign the runner–up from The Chosen One? Why not use him?”

“Why not go after Sophia?” Winters asked.

Aurora replied, “The Pendleton family treats Sophia like a treasure. You dare go after her? Leave her to me.”

Winters sighed, “I don’t know what’s going on with your family, fighting like this.”

Aurora took a sip of water, “That’s their family, not mine.”

The runner–up from The Chosen One was Yorick, who, like Daxton, specialized in love songs. Aurora had him from Winters under the name of Skyline Media and collaborated with Daxton on two singles for the album.
