The footage of Sophia confidently standing up and then awkwardly sitting down was captured, along with photos of her looking upset while Cheryl gave her acceptance speech.

Sophia’s fans and Cheryl’s fans were arguing nonstop below the posts online.

While the fans were noisy, Alaric had already sent Aurora the video and call records of Sophia bribing the jury. Aurora kept them, knowing it wasn’t the right time yet.

After the award ceremony, there would be a banquet. Zane and the others could handle these matters themselves; Aurora didn’t need to

worry.

Aurora turned off the TV and left the company to wait for Jay to take her home. She had promised Heath to go to the U.S, assuring him she wouldn’t approach Isabella. She was just going to look and then come back, but she felt uneasy.

Standing by the roadside, she called Jay to ask when he would arrive. Suddenly, a van stopped in front of her, the door opened, and two burly men jumped out, covered her mouth, and dragged her into the vehicle.

Aurora’s phone fell to the ground, and before she could resist, a pungent smell rushed into her nostrils, and she lost consciousness.

When Aurora woke up, her head was heavy, the smell was familiar–ether, a substance they commonly used.

She rubbed her head, sat up, and assessed her surroundings: the dim lighting, the suggestive big bed. She knew what was likely to happen

next.

The question was, who had brought her here?

Jay arrived at Fairview Media’s building, waited five minutes for Aurora, but she had said she was waiting downstairs just moments ago.

Jay took out his phone to call her, but the ringtone sounded from his feet. He picked it up, confirmed it was Aurora’s phone, and realized with a shock that something had happened!

Jay flipped through Aurora’s phone and hastily dialed Heath. When Heath saw Aurora’s number light up his screen, he answered with a guarded, “Hello?”

“Heath, something’s happened to Aurora! Jay blurted out without preamble.

“Who is this?‘ Heath demanded.

“It’s Jay, Aurora’s driver. She asked me to pick her up for work, but when I got here, all I found was her phone ditched by the roadside!” Jay rattled off the situation in a rush of words.

‘Drive over to Fairbank Corp now!‘ Heath snapped before hanging up and turning to Kieran, “Check the cameras! I want eyes on every inch of that street!‘

Kieran was on the phone in a heartbeat, and the moment the security team heard it was the CEO of Fairbank Corp asking, they sent over the footage without delay.

Starting with the cameras at the base of the Fairbank Tower, Kieran traced the route of a van that had taken Aurora. The trail led to a villa district, but the coverage outside was spotty, and the van disappeared at a crossroads. The villas were home to the wealthy and influential, and getting surveillance access wouldn’t be easy or quick.

Jay was freaking out, “What do we do now? Aurora’s been gone for over half an hour! What if something happens to her?”

“She’ll be fine!” Heath’s voice was a rock–solid promise. “Kieran, get the car!”

Kieran bolted for the vehicle, with Jay riding shotgun and Heath brooding in the backseat, eyes narrowed, “Head to the villa district.”
