Chapter 128
Aurora closed her eyes, feigning weakness, leaning on the wall and Silas for support.
He patted her cheek, ‘Come on, drop the knife. You think you can kill someone? Who are you trying to fool?”

Slowly, Aurora opened her eyes, which had lost their earlier confusion and now were filled with a chilling resolve. She looked at him as if he were already dead.
With a painful smile pulling at her injured face, she leaned in close to Silas’s ear and whispered, “I’ve killed before, many, many times.”
Silas froze, and the sound of the knife slicing through flesh was unmistakably clear. A sharp pain erupted in his abdomen, and as he looked down in disbelief, the familiar fruit knife was buried in his stomach, his shirt soaking with blood.
He looked at Aurora in disbelief, unable to fathom that this seemingly harmless girl had actually stabbed him. She appeared so frail, almost on the verge of passing out.
But now, Aurora was a picture of resolve, devoid of any previous hesitation or fear. She pushed the knife in further, her face splattered with Silas’s blood, her smile devastatingly beautiful, “I warned you, touch me and I can kill you!”
Silas staggered and fell, and without his support, Aurora slid down the wall to the floor.
She knew her stab hadn’t hit anything vital; he would bleed out eventually if left unattended.
Before she could try to stand, hurried footsteps approached. Aurora’s heart sank; she had no strength left to fight off anyone else.
The door burst open, and she saw Heath stride in. She thought she was hallucinating due to her weakness.
It wasn’t until Heath crouched beside her, unconcerned about her state of undress, that she realized it was real. “Are you hurt? Where’s the blood from?” he asked urgently.
“No, it’s not mine,” Aurora shook her head.
Kieran and Jay followed in, turning away immediately upon seeing Aurora’s state.
Heath shed his suit jacket to cover her and lifted her into his arms, his voice a mix of steel and silk, “It’s over, you’re safe now.”
Aurora leaned into his embrace and let the darkness take her.
Kieran turned back to the unconscious Silas on the floor, “Boss, what’s the plan?”
Heath’s gaze swept over the torn clothes, the bloodied ashtray, and Silas with the knife still in him, his face a mask of controlled fury. He didn’t want to think about what could have happened if he’d arrived any later.
“Get him to a hospital. Don’t let him die. Tell Lysander to meet me at home,” Heath ordered.
Kieran called for an ambulance while Jay asked, “Where will you take Aurora, Boss?”
‘Home, Heath tightened his grip on her, “We’re going home.”

He walked out with Aurora in his arms, leaving Kieran to reassure Jay, “Don’t worry, she is safest with the boss. Just go back and tell her grandpa that the boss took the young lady abroad. It’s all good.”
Jay scratched his head, glanced at Silas, and gave him another kick, “Why not just let him die here?”
Kieran sighed, “And have the young lady go to jail?”
Jay helped Kieran manage the scene until the ambulance took Silas away.
Back at home, Lysander was waiting in the living room. Seeing Aurora unconscious and covered in blood, he knew this was no joke.
Heath laid her on the bed and gently wiped the blood from her upper body with a towel. Apart from some scrapes, there were no serious injuries–the blood wasn’t hers.
After Lysander gave her a thorough check and treated her for ether overdose, he reassured Heath, “She’ll be fine after some rest and medicine for the scrapes.”
Once Lysander had administered the injection and joined Heath in the living room, he saw Heath’s rigid profile and clapped him on the shoulder, “Relax, she’s okay now.”
Heath sat with a whiskey in his trembling hand, trying to steady himself.
“I found her lying there, covered in blood,” Heath suddenly said.
Lysander poured himself a drink, “You’ve been through worse with Eamon.”
Heath nodded, taking a sip, “Yeah, but this time, it hurt a lot more.”
Lysander paused, then chuckled, “So you’ve really fallen for her, huh? Is the Song kid out of luck now?”
Heath flung his glass against the wall, shattering it, and turned to Lysander with a fierce resolve, “Out of luck? He’s lucky to be alive after touching what’s mine!”
Lysander shivered slightly, knowing Heath for years, he hadn’t seen him this angry in a long, long time.
