Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 130

Kieran drove them to the hotel, to the same presidential suite with its two bedrooms. Heath carried her into the living room and placed her on the sofa, touching her hair softly, Play around for a bit, I need to handle some things.

Aurora obediently nodded, sitting in the living room flipping through magazines when the doorbell rang.

The study door was shut tight. Maybe Heath and Kieran didn’t hear it. Aurora stood up to answer the door and froze.

Eamon? It took a moment for Aurora to register his presence, What are you doing here?

Aurora, long time no see,Eamon greeted her, a bit startled himself.

She let him in, Heath and Kieran are in the study.

Eamon nodded and looked back at her, Aurora, are you visiting the States for fun?

Aurora smiled, Yeah, it’s my first time here. Heath brought me over for a look.

Eamon glanced at her and without a word, knocked and entered the study.

The door to the study closed again, and although Aurora had no idea what they were discussing, she had a feeling it wasn’t just a simple dinner.

That door seemed to lock away secrets that even Aurora couldn’t grasp.

Her phone suddenly buzzed. She walked out to the balcony to answer, Jasper?

Aurora, Jay said you’re in the States?Jasper’s voice came through.

Yeah, I’m attending the Whitmore’s dinner tomorrow, she replied.

Are you out of your mind? If Isabella sees your face, you won’t live to see another day! You can’t go!Jasper was panicking, probably just because of her face, identical to Olivia’s, prompting them to protect her subconsciously.

Yeah, Aurora, just don’t go. Even if you’re seeking revenge, don’t rush it!Carly chimed in beside him.

Don’t worry, I won’t be reckless, and I’m not planning to walk into my demise,Aurora reassured them.

No way! You can’t go! Carly and I are almost there, we’re going to take you back home!Jasper insisted.

Aurora was taken aback, You came to the States? What if the Abyss finds out?

We can’t worry about that now, getting you home is what matters!Jasper was resolute.

Aurora sighed, Rushing here to whisk me away will only make Heath call the cops. I’m really just going to the party to have fun. It’s a Christmas masquerade; I’ll be in a mask, no one will recognize me. If you’re that worried, wait outside for me, okay? We’ll stay in touch.

Jasper couldn’t persuade her and sighed in resignation, Aurora, If anything happens, we’ll never be able to face Olivia.

Aurora’s voice was tinged with emotion, Nothing will happen, I promise.

How could anything happen? She was determined to live and make those who hurt her pay.

At dinner, the hotel delivered Western food, and the trio finally emerged from the study, all smiles, as if nothing serious was on their

minds.

Eamon suddenly mentioned, Lysander will be arriving tomorrow morning.

Heath nodded, and Aurora interjected, Lysander is coming too?

Yep, to check on your injury,Heath said.

Aurora quietly poked at her food, knowing it wasn’t as simple as Heath put it. She just had a scrape, nothing serious enough to warrant Lysander’s long trip to the States.

After dinner, as Eamon left and Kieran went out, Heath stayed with her to watch TV. You sure you’re up for the ball tomorrow with your injury?

She nodded, It’s just a scratch.

Heath ruffled her hair, Fancy a walk downstairs?

*Sure, let me change.

She swapped her outfit for shorts and a loose Tshirt, paired with sneakers, and joined Heath downstairs.

The hotel’s garden and pool area were lovely. The blonde and blueeyed guests chatting in groups gave them curious glances, which Aurora returned with friendly smiles.

Heath looked at her, Want to stay in the States a bit longer?

She hesitated, then shook her head, No, our studio is on the rise, lots to do.

Heath mentioned something that caught her off guard, Don’t take what Mr. Fairbank said to heart.

It took her a moment to realize he was referring to his father.

Grandpa had told her that the Fairbank family dynamics were complex. Heath’s relationship with his father wasn’t good; he even avoided calling him dadin front of others.

When my mom met him overseas, he was already married. She didn’t know and naively followed him for years, only finding out after returning home that she was the other woman. His wife passed away, insistent to her last breath that my mom had destroyed their home. Mom was lost for a while, then the accident happened,Heath recounted the painful past with a calm voice.

Heath let out a selfmocking chuckle, Mom was naive, paying for it her whole life.

Aurora felt a pang in her heart, reaching out to hold Heath’s hand, which enveloped hers comfortably.

It’s all in the past now,she said softly.

Heath spoke as they walked, I’ve fought in the Fairbank family for years, ousted my halfsiblings, secured Fairbank Corpit’s all I can do. After all, he’s my biological father; how can I avenge that?

The calmness in his voice weighed on Aurora, a weight she could feel even in the tranquility of the night.

She hugged Heath gently, a spontaneous comfort, patting his back as if to say, It’s okay, you have me.

It was a thought that slipped out without filtering through her mind.

She said it, You have me.

Sometime along the way, she had come to accept that their lives were intertwined.

On this silent night, as the usually reserved man shared his heartwrenching history, she didn’t know how else to comfort him but to hold him close and remind him he wasn’t alone.

Heath looked down into her fresh and radiant face, and as he leaned in, the warmth of his lips met hers. Her lashes fluttered in a mix of surprise and tenderness, as she held onto his shirt and held her breath.

For the first time, she didn’t resist or pull away, quietly accepting his kiss.

Her docile compliance swept away any of Heath’s lingering displeasure, savoring the sweetness of the moment.

Under the warm lights of the hotel garden, the tall man bowed his head to kiss the longhaired girl, who had to tiptoe just to meet him, creating an unexpectedly harmonious picture.

He tightened his arms around her, deepening the kiss. She hummed uncomfortably and pushed against his chest lightly, causing Heath to finally release her.

Aurora’s breathing was rapid, and Heath, with a rough touch, teased her blushing lips, grinning with satisfaction, Need a break for air?

Aurora’s face turned red hot as she glared at him and took off, I’m tired, I’m going to bed. Goodnight!

Heath watched her sprint to the elevator, closing him out. He smiled helplessly and took the next one.

As Aurora stepped out of the elevator, the doors of the adjacent one opened, and Heath, looking unruffled, followed her back to her room.
