Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Back in het sanctuary, Aurora was a flurry of emotions and hot showers. She glared at her own flushed face in the mirror and gave herself a pep talk

a literal slap of reality- muttering, Get it together, Autora. You’re acting crazy!

The shock was real she kissed Heath! Was she sleepwalking or what?

She’d never let Heath get away with a kiss before without putting up a fight. What was different now? It dawned on her tripped her! Her overflowing sympathy had left her defenses down. Yeah, that had to be the reason.

he had guilt-

In the midst of documents and serious business, Heath was in his room trying to focus but failing miserably. That kiss had left a sweet aftertaste that he couldn’t shake off. Aurora was his weakness, and thinking about her just made him lose track of time and sense.

He remembered the way she looked earlier, innocently standing on her tiptoes, her cheeks flushed and her eyes wide, fluttering like the wings of a butterfly. It was a snapshot he couldn’t erase from his mind, leaving him helpless with a hand on his forehead, pondering over his reaction to a mere kiss and what it spelled for the future.

Stay cool,he told himself, a mantra that was hard to follow when his heart skipped beats just from thinking about her next door.

But staying cool was out of the question. The urge to be near her was too strong. So, with a resolve that could only mean trouble, he abandoned his work and barged into her room.

Postshower and decked in her comfy pajamas, Aurora was startled by Heath’s sudden entrance. The memory of their recent closeness made her hands nervously twist together as she stammered an awkward You

But before she could spill her thoughts, he kissed her, stopping time and words altogether.

Retreating only made her stumble, and she found herself on the bed, Heath’s hand cradling her head, his body pressing down, deepening the kiss that she didn’t realize she had been waiting for.

Her thoughts were fuzzy, barely coherent until Heath’s husky voice broke through, advising her to sort out her affairs quickly. What?was all she could muster in her dazed state.

With a regretful yet pleased look, Heath confessed his limited restraint around her, sealing his words with a gaze too intense to be anything but truthful.

After he left, with a pillow thrown his way and a command to exit, he took it as his cue to cool off literally, with two cold showers before surrendering to sleep.

The next morning, Aurora kept her head down, finishing breakfast, too embarrassed to make eye contact with Heath after last night’s debacle.

But of course, Heath had to ask, How about a stylist tonight?

She nodded: Oh.

Do you need a mask? I’ll have Kieran pick one up.

Again, a nod: Yes.

Chapter 131

He called her, Rory.

Hmm? she mumbled, busying herself with the toast.

You’re blushing, he teased with a laugh in his voice.

She glared up at him: No, I’m not!

นร.

He nodded, his eyes twinkling with unspoken laughter.

His girl, whether angry or shy, was just too cute.

By evening, Kieran brought the stylist, who was all praises for Aurora’s beauty. After a twohour makeover, she emerged stunning.

In a black lace dress revealing her slender waist and showcasing her collarbones, her hair pinned back with a pearl clip revealing delicate earlobes adorned with diamond studs, her makeup understated yet alluring, lips a bold red, she was less the ingénue and more the

enchantress.

Choosing a mask edged with silver, she asked the stylist to help her fit it, only to be caught by Heath suggesting, You don’t need a mask, do you?

After their intimate moment last night, he was getting too close for comfort.

Aurora’s response was to slap away his hand and ask, Why not?

Kieran stood silent, wondering if the boss was being rejected.

Heath just smiled: Fine, I don’t want to share.

He helped her with the mask, concealing half her stunning face, leaving only her nose and tempting lips visible. She smiled, the epitome of ravishing beauty.

Let’s go, my lady,he offered his arm.

Aurora took his arm, grabbed her purse, and they headed downstairs.

Kieran opened the car for them, driving them to the Whitmore family’s gala at the opulent Welton Manor, a scenic Whitmore property typically closed to the public. Aurora had been here before with Dominic.

They entered the grand hall, alive with a buzz of languages and the promise of a night where anything could happen. Aurora inhaled deeply. She was back to the world she knew, as if a lifetime had passed, here she was again!
