Me And My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 132

Heath, attired in a black suit with a subtle pattern, possessed sharp, welldefined features. He didn’t wear a mask, and as soon as he entered the hall, he was the focus of myriad stares. Many greeted him; he acknowledged them with a minimal nod in response.

Aurora had been unaware of the extent of Heath’s influence in the United States.

Heath glanced at her and spoke, I’ll have matters to attend to with Eamon later; don’t wander off. Stay and enjoy the banquet.

Aurora nodded, intuitively feeling that Heath didn’t wish to disclose the details of his business to her.

The masquerade ball was a swirl of strangersfaces, with the majority of the men forgoing masks as their presence was businessoriented, not for covert leisure.

In contrast, the women companions sported a variety of masks, their attendance purely for the festivities, along with the socialites wearing exquisite makeup, for whom their visage was key to allure the opposite sex why would they hide behind masks?

The bustling hall was serviced by waitstaff in white uniforms with red bow ties, and female servers in red skirts, all wearing uniform white masks, exuding the full spirit of Christmas.

As Aurora gripped Heath’s arm, observing his interactions in fluent English and even French, a small surge of pride rose within her.

This man, with every gesture and look, carried an aristocratic aura, an air of looking down upon the world as if nothing was unattainable or worthy of his concern.

When Heath met Aurora’s gaze, he inquired, What are you watching?

Aurora candidly remarked, Watching you, epitomizing confidence and disdain.

Heath slightly smirked and said, You’re mistaken, Rory. You occupy my vision.

Aurora was left momentarily wordless. Could he really speak such provocative words without a hint of embarrassment?

Before she could challenge him, Eamon arrived, addressing her, Aurora, I did not anticipate encountering you here.

Aurora turned towards Eamon with a subtle smile, lifting her champagne, Eamon, the feeling is mutual.

Eamon was momentarily entranced by the enigma of Auroraher halfmask revealing ensnaring red lips, her smile both confident and bewitching, and the poised champagne flute in her hand

It was a deja vu of yesteryears.

Eamon, grasping Aurora’s arm, questioned, Aurora, have we met before?

Aurora, taken aback, replied, No, we haven’t.

She glanced down at Eamon’s hand holding hers with a frown, Eamon, that hurts.

Heath reached out, firmly clasping Eamon’s wrist, Eamon, release her.

Only then did Eamon realize his gaffe, releasing her and apologizing for his rashness.

Aurora retrieved her arm, rubbing it, and suggested, You talk; I’m off to eat something.

Releasing Heath’s arm, Aurora moved towards the buffet, as Heath questioned Eamon, What’s this all about?

Eamon, fixated on Aurora’s retreating figure, shook his head in confusion, I don’t know. She just seems too familiar.

Heath’s expression darkened. Was Eamon coveting what was his?

Eamon, catching Heath’s stern look, chuckled helplessly, Surely you don’t think I’m competing with you?

You dare!Heath glared threateningly.

Eamon, pulling Heath upstairs, placated, Calm down, I dare not.

Aurora sat in the rest area, watching Eamon and Heath ascend, followed closely by Kieran, as they all disappeared into a room, the door closing with finality.

Her curiosity piqued, she wondered what they were up to, who Eamon was, and whether the Whitmore family’s impending alliance with the Abyss was ignorant of the underground forces at play. What about Heath or Eamon? Did they have other forces?

Her thoughts were interrupted by exclamations from the crowd. Aurora turned to see a stunningly beautiful woman entering the hall.

Dressed in a white evening gown with long hair cascading to her waist, her makeup perfecting her features, she greeted everyone with a poise that matched her aristocratic air.
