She awoke in Aurora’s body, and the very next day, Dominic and Isabella got engaged.
All those sweet words, gentle gazes, unbeatable achievements, and her countless scars suddenly turned into the biggest joke.
It was all a lie, and she was always Dominic’s sharpest blade and most competent pawn.
She hadn’t thought of Dominic in a long time, her only focus was to kill Isabella, and if Dominic got in her way, she’d take revenge on
him too.
But she didn’t expect to meet him so soon.
She thought she wouldn’t feel anything, but now, she felt as if her tongue had been taken away, unable to utter even a simple “hello.”
Heath’s expression was beyond bad. He held Aurora’s hand so tightly it was almost breaking, but she seemed numb to the pain, showing
no reaction.
This damned woman, she had never looked at him like that!
Since Dominic appeared, Aurora seemed like she had lost her soul!
Dominic met Aurora’s gaze, feeling a tremor in his heart.
In her clear eyes, there was hatred, conflict, despair, and sadness.
She stared at him, as if she had a thousand words to say.
The half of her face that was visible was exquisitely beautiful, her red lips enchanting, reminding him of someone who had accompanied him for many years.
He was curious about what the woman behind the mask looked like.
“Miss Aurora, have we met before?” Dominic asked.
Heath abruptly wrapped his arm around Aurora, almost rudely. Tonight, this was the second time someone had asked Aurora such a question. How many people had she met?
Heath met Dominic’s gaze, “Are you hitting on my companion?”
Dominic smiled politely, “Just small talk, Sir, don’t misunderstand.”
Aurora thought, who would have guessed that this seemingly polite gentleman had blood on his hands?
Then, a gunshot shattered the harmonious atmosphere of the hall, snapping Aurora back to reality. Was it Jasper and his team?
Guests screamed and ran in all directions, high heels and expensive glasses scattered and broken on the floor. The once calm hall now
resembled a disaster scene.

They had been talking not far from the entrance. Before Heath could grab Aurora, the crowd had already surged forward, separating them.
Kieran, protecting Heath, ran outside, shouting. Eamon sent me to get you, let’s meet up with them!”
Heath yelled, Aurora is gone!
Kieran pushed Heath out the door amid the pushing crowd.
He broke free from Kieran and rushed back into the hall, where scattered runners were not Aurora.
Kieran pulled him, “Boss! Aurora must have gotten out! Let’s go find her!”
As they ran out again, more gunshots rang out. Heath grunted as blood flowed from his shoulder.
Kieran got him to safety, finding Eamon, who cursed in anger, “There’s another group involved! That’s why Luca added more bodyguards!”
Kieran quickly bandaged Heath’s wound. Heath asked, “Wasn’t the plan to move at midnight? Why start early?”
“The other group acted first, catching Luca’s attention and putting us at a disadvantage,” Eamon said, checking Heath’s shoulder, “Is it
bad?”
Heath shook his head, “I’m fine, it didn’t hit anything vital.”
Turning to Kieran, he commanded, “Take someone and find Aurora. Make sure she’s safe and gets back to the hotel!”
Kieran nodded and left with another guy.
Eamon inquired, “Aurora is missing?”
Heath, pressing on his wound, replied grimly, “The gunfire started so suddenly, I couldn’t hold onto her, we got separated by the crowd.”
Eamon patted his other shoulder, reassuringly, “She’ll be fine; she’s not the target.”
During the gunfire, before Aurora could find Heath, she was dragged out of the door.
Turning back, she saw Carly pulling her, so she kicked off her high heels and ran alongside her to a small building outside, which turned out to be a storage room.
Panting, Aurora asked, “Why did you come back?”
Carly, organizing her weapons, answered, “There’s another group after Luca, and his bodyguards are more numerous than we expected, including several mercenaries. Jasper and I were worried about you, so we came back for you.”
Aurora was stunned, “Why would I be in danger? Where are the other people… Heath and his group?”
Carly nodded, “I don’t know about his friend Eamon, but they came here not for business but to catch Luca. Aurora, could they be from Interpol?”
Aurora shook her head, “I don’t know.”

Outside, the sound of gunfire continued. Carly, preparing her weapons, said, “Hear that? With all those shots, it’s not just Jasper firing. We won’t catch Luca tonight. Getting out of the manor alive is good enough.”
“What about Jasper? Aurora asked.
Carly shook her head, “He’s probably trapped inside. I brought you to the outskirts, but I have to go back for him.”
Aurora stopped her, ‘You said Luca’s guards are numerous, including mercenaries. Can you even get out if you go back in?”
Carly laughed, “I have to go, I can’t leave Jasper. You go on, if Jasper and I can make it out, so can your Heath. Wait for him at the hotel.”
Carly, grabbing her weapons to leave, was halted by Aurora, “Carly, let me help you!”
Carly shook her head, ‘Aurora, don’t overestimate yourself. Have you ever killed anyone? With over twenty bodyguards and mercenaries inside, how can you help?”
Aurora pointed at her backpack, “Give me that sniper rifle. Trust me, I can help you!”
Her confidence and assertiveness, now mask–free, echoed the once invincible and proud Olivia.
That arrogance and pride instilled a new level of trust in Carly.
“Carly! I promise! I’ll only snipe from the outskirts, I won’t step into the battlefield!” Aurora insisted.
Knowing she was only trained in basic self–defense, engaging mercenaries in close combat was akin to suicide.
Carly reluctantly handed over the sniper rifle, exasperated, “I must be crazy to actually believe you!”

Aurora, taking the rifle, smiled, “I look exactly like Olivia; maybe some talents are the same?”
Carly sighed helplessly, “Hope so, but if you miss, run. Don’t get caught.”
Aurora nodded, and together with Carly, they left the building.
