On the coffee table lay Aurora’s blood–stained high heels, making Eamon recall her masked, slightly smiling face so alluring and Tamiliar. Yet, he racked his brain without success, unable to pinpoint where he had seen this scene before.

Lysander entered Heath’s room, watching Aurora as she wiped his face with a towel, checked his wound, and then sat in a chair beside the hed, staring blankly at Heath.

Lysander, with a sense of resignation, shook his head and called out, “Aurora.”

Aurora turned around, “Lysander, what is it?”

Lysander approached and adjusted the IV drip, remarking, “You shouldn’t know how to treat wounds, you know?”

Aurora nodded in agreement, “I know.”

“And racing, fighting, you shouldn’t know those either,” Lysander added.

“I know,” Aurora replied, somewhat irritably. She wasn’t as cautious as she once was as Olivia, revealing too many flaws.

“Your behavior does raise questions. Don’t blame Eamon. To us, Heath is like a brother. He just wants to ensure Heath’s safety,” Lysander explained.

“I understand,” Aurora said, looking down. She knew Eamon’s interrogation was for Heath’s safety.

“Aurora, I believe in you,” Lysander suddenly declared.

Startled, Aurora looked up into Lysander’s eyes, “Why?”

With a resigned smile, Lysander replied, “I don’t know, just a hunch. I hope you won’t let me down.”

Aurora smiled, “Don’t worry, I won’t!”

“Alright, I’ll leave now. Take care of him. Call me if you need anything,” Lysander advised before leaving the room.

Aurora sat by the bed, gently stroking Heath’s furrowed brow, whispering, “Wake up soon.”

The next day, when Heath slowly awoke, his fingers brushed against something fluffy.

Turning his head, he saw Aurora asleep at his bedside, holding his hand under her cheek. Trying to withdraw his hand, she woke up.

Sitting up and rubbing her eyes, she met Heath’s gaze and exclaimed joyfully, “You’re awake?”

Heath nodded. Aurora touched his forehead, “The fever’s gone. Wait here, I’ll call Lysander.”

Before Heath could respond, Aurora had already run out. Soon after, Lysander entered.

Seeing Heath awake in bed, Lysander smiled, “Heath, you’re up early.”

Lysander approached, checking the wound, and whispered, “Why wake up so early? Aurora was here all night.”

Heath was taken aback, turning to look at Lysander, who affirmed with his gaze. Did Aurora not leave to find Dominic while he was

unconscious?

As Lysander changed the dressing, he muttered, “Aurora seems to care about you. Yesterday, Eamon pointed a gun at her, and the calmly said she would never hurt you.”

Heath was surprised, “Eamon pointed a gun at her? Why?”

Lysander applied the dressing, sighing, “Because Aurora didn’t come home for a whole day and night. Eamon suspected her of being a spy. They had a fierce argument yesterday,”

Heath frowned, visibly unhappy.

“Heath, what do you think? Do you also believe Aurora is a spy?” Lysander asked while packing up the medical kit.

Looking at his wound, Heath said, “So what if she is a spy?”

Lysander, holding the medical kit, looked at him, “What will you do if she is a spy?”

Heath met Lysander’s gaze, “Whether she is or isn’t, she’s mine.”

Lysander paused, then laughed, “True, you wouldn’t easily let go of someone you fancy.”

As Lysander walked out with the kit, Heath called out, “Let her in.”

Lysander went to the living room, where Aurora was pacing anxiously. Seeing Lysander, she immediately asked, “How is he?”

Lysander clicked his tongue, “You’re so worried, why don’t you go in and see for yourself?”

Aurora hesitated, recalling her recent argument with Heath, which had caused his wound to reopen and him to faint.

She feared entering – what if Heath was still angry? What if he continued to question her about Dominic Ashcroft? She didn’t want to argue again or see Heath’s doubtful gaze.

Lysander shook his head helplessly, “Aurora, some things can’t be avoided. You said it yourself yesterday you, only Heath does.”

He patted Aurora’s shoulder and left the hotel.

Hesitantly, Aurora walked over and pushed open Heath’s door.

Heath was struggling to get out of bed, unable to use his shoulder, which was quite a challenge.

Aurora rushed to help him, asking, “What are you doing up?”

Heath stood up, heading for the bathroom, “I want to take a shower.”

Aurora held him back, “Your wound hasn’t healed, how can you shower?”

Heath was frustrated – he hadn’t showered for three days and felt uncomfortable.

Reluctantly, Aurora helped him into the bathroom, placed a stool for him to sit, and said, “Just rinse your legs, you can’t get your upper body wet.”

After much struggle, Heath managed to wash his legs but couldn’t dress himself with one hand.

Reluctantly, he called out, “Rory, come in for a moment.”

Aurora opened the bathroom door and, seeing the scene, blushed furiously. She slammed the door shut and yelled through it, “Pervert!”

Heath replied, “Come in and help me with my robe, I can’t put it on with one hand.”

“I refuse!” Aurora firmly disagreed.

“What, do you want me to walk around the room like this?” Heath asked.

Aurora was silent.

Blushing, she opened the door, grabbed his robe, helped him into it from behind, tied the belt, and then rushed out of the bathroom, slamming his room door behind her.

Heath was left in silence.
