Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 162

Chapter 162

:

72

As soon as Silas stepped through his front door, he was summoned to the study. His father, Mr. Song, thrust plane tickets and documents into his hands. Get to the airport now! Lay low abroad and then return!

Silas, pushing back, protested, Dad! Why are you sending me out of the country all of a sudden?

Mr. Song, furious, hurled his phone at Silas, snapping, You’ve crossed the Fairbanks! Now Heath Fairbank wants you in jail, and I can’t save you! Get out before the police file a case!

Silas retorted angrily, How was I to know messing with some minor model would cause this mess?

Mr. Song hadn’t anticipated this either, but as it turned out, Silas had meddled with someone under the Fairbanksprotection.

There was no recourse; Heath was known for his ruthless decisiveness in business. Anyone he targeted had little hope of escape.

In a flurry, Mr. Song rushed Silas to the airport. He had only one son, and despite his faults, he couldn’t bear to see him behind bars.

As Silas queued for boarding, a squad of police officers stormed the airport and detained him, presenting their credentials. Mr. Silas Song, you’re suspected of kidnapping and drug possession. Please come with us.

Silas was dumbfounded. His father had assured him that fleeing the country would solve everything. Why were the police here?

He hadn’t kidnapped anyone that was Sophia’s doing. Nor had he hidden drugs; those were his friendsmisdeeds. He was just caught up

in the excitement

Regardless of Silasexcuses, the police took him away.

Hearing of his arrest, Mr. Song collapsed at home. He sent people to find lawyers for his defense, but few dared take the case. Everyone in the city knew Silas had offended the Fairbanks.

Thus, Silas was swiftly convicted and sentenced to a lengthy prison term.

When Aurora heard the news, she was lounging on a couch, flipping through scripts, looking for a good movie project for Cheryl and

Zane.

Upon learning of Silassentence, Aurora looked up at Heath, who was still busily typing on his laptop.

Turning to Alaric, she inquired, Didn’t the Song family try to reduce his sentence?

Alaric, with a smirk, replied, Hey, with Heath’s influence looming, who would dare intervene?

Aurora glanced slyly at Heath and teased, Seems like crossing Heath Fairbank spells doom, huh?

Alaric leaned in and whispered, Yeah, I once tricked Heath into a trap for Elowen, and Heath shut down Skyline for half a month in response

Aurora was speechless.

Chapter 162

:

Heath, still typing, said calmly, Silas didn’t offend me.

Aurora looked at him, puzzled.

He offended you, Heath turned to her, And offending you is a far worse fate than crossing me.

Alaric, covering his mouth, coughed, Okay, that’s enough showing off.

Aurora, her cheeks flushed, returned to the previous topic, Aren’t you into Elowen? Why set her up with Heath?

Alaric, lounging with his legs crossed on the sofa, shrugged, I’ve always been like that, foolishly giving her whatever she wants.

Aurora pursed her lips, silent. She thought Alaric deserved better than Elowen.

Deciding not to pry further, Aurora announced, I should go. I have plans to shop with Vespera.

Heath glanced at his watch, Will you be back for dinner?

Aurora pondered, Not sure how long we’ll be out. We’ll see.

Heath nodded, Alright, I’ll pick you up afterward.

As Aurora grabbed her bag and left, Alaric lounged back on the sofa, teasing, Coming back for dinner? Are you two living together now?

Heath, looking back at his computer, casually replied, No, it’s just everyday life.

Alaric, clutching his chest, feigned heartbreak. Heath was always like that rarely speaking, but when he did, his words hit hard.

Aurora and Vespera rendezvoused at the bustling shopping mall in the heart of the city, with the New Year’s excitement palpable in the air. Intent on refreshing their wardrobes and scooping up festive goodies, they plunged into the sea of shoppers.
