Chapter 179

In the following day’s online uproar, rumors spread that Zane, exhausted from recent work, had been hospitalized due to a stomach bleed caused by irregular sleep and work patterns.
The internet erupted with overwhelming comments.
“Wow, Zane is sick? Does that mean he won’t be shooting anymore?”
“Poor hubby! A stomach bleed sounds so painful!”
“What’s going on with the Autumn’s Whispering Fan crew? Both leads have had issues. Are they going to replace someone now?”
“I don’t care, if there’s no Zane, I’m not watching!”
“I solemnly request the crew to wait for my Zane to recover before resuming filming!”
“Make that two requests!”
Given Zane’s notoriety and skyrocketing status in the entertainment industry, especially among young female fans attracted to his looks, the news of his hospitalization and potential withdrawal from Autumn’s Whispering Fan deeply saddened his fanbase. Many declared they wouldn’t watch the drama without Zane playing Gavin.
Aurora immediately called the production team, expressing her apologies in a tactful manner.
The producer asked, “Ms. Pendleton, what is there to apologize for?”
Sitting in Cheryl’s hospital room, tapping on the table, Aurora replied, “Our Zane is hospitalized. The doctor said it’ll be months before he’s better. I’m afraid he won’t be able to continue filming. We’ll compensate for any breach of contract, so the crew needn’t worry.”
Shocked, the producer asked, “Zane is dropping out?”
Aurora nodded as if it were obvious. “Our Zane is so pale and can’t even get out of bed. How can he possibly shoot?”
Meanwhile, Zane was lounging on a sofa, engrossed in a video game. Hearing Aurora say he couldn’t leave his bed, he rolled his eyes but remained silent.
The producer panicked. Zane’s withdrawal was a significant issue. An investor had funded the project mainly to curry favor with Alaric, seeing Zane as a heir of the Striders and. The possibility of Zane dropping out meant potential withdrawal of this investment.
In a frantic tone, the producer said, “Ms. Pendleton, this can’t be handled this way! If Zane drops out, where can we find a male actor to replace him on such short notice?”
Aurora glanced at Zane and casually said, “I’m not trying to disrespect the crew. Time is precious, and filming only takes three or four months. You can’t wait for Zane for a month. Besides, the production is well–known, and you, as a capable producer, surely can find a replacement for Cheryl. I’m sure finding someone to replace Zane won’t be too difficult for you!”
Realizing Aurora’s words were a form of retaliation, echoing their refusal to wait for Cheryl’s recovery, the producer understood her motive. But he couldn’t immediately find a male actor to replace Zane.

Chapter 179
Especially with an investor behind Zane, where could he find another investment to fill the gap?

Moreover, the drama’s initial appeal was the on–screen couple of Zane and Cheryl. With Cheryl replaced due to her injury, and now Zane dropping out, the show would have to be entirely recast, likely losing its original audience, book fans, and fanbase.
Without waiting for the producer to respond, Aurora hung up. She intended to use Zane’s influence, popularity, and investors to pressure
the crew.
She didn’t believe the show could continue without Zane and his investment.
How much more would Evelyn have to spend to keep the show running if Yvonne brought in funding to change the cast?
Lying on the sofa, Zane glanced at Aurora and asked, “What now? Wait for the producer to change his mind?”
Aurora nodded, “Yes, wait for the crew to invite you both back.”
Zane shrugged, “I don’t mind. If Cheryl doesn’t return, I don’t want to work with Evelyn either.”
Cheryl sighed helplessly, hoping Aurora’s strategy would work. She didn’t want to lose her role.
That evening, Aurora visited Heath at his luxurious residence, following his request for a meeting.
Upon her arrival, Heath was already waiting in the living room. He greeted her with a casual greeting, “How is the day?”
Shaking her head, Aurora replied, “It’s been a long day.”
Heath gestured for her to sit beside him. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he suggested, “What would you like to eat? Let’s go out.”
Aurora glanced towards the dining room and asked, “Didn’t Gloria come to cook?”
Heath shook his head. “No, let’s dine out.”
“Sure,” Aurora replied.
Heath pulled her close for a quick kiss and said, “Let me wrap up some work first. Entertain yourself for a while.”
Aurora, feeling slightly patronized, said, “I’m not a child, I don’t need you to keep me company.”
Heath chuckled. “Then, Ms. Pendleton, feel free to browse some magazines while you wait.”
